It makes sense for you guys with a large group and still having younger kids. For us, Disney considers us 6 adults and it makes zero sense. The TiW will work though and I'm excited. I wish they'd release the details on the cost for DVC members. I'm guessing it will be either $75 like for AP holders or the rumored $100. Either way, we'll make our money.

We don't do a lot of soda either but I do like those mugs because my water stays nice and cold. I'm a super ice water junkie.

We saved a lot of $$$ with TiW last year. I love it.

DDP is only segmented for DVC if you are changing resorts, they cancelled it. With a split though, very easy to do DDP for part of a trip (and book pricier dinners and buffets then!). Logistical nightmare to manage the segments I imagine. Mary Ellen and I did the segments and major issues with my card, ended up with no credits, and then double credits that never seemed to go down, it was wacky! Still though, it was darn cool to do deluxe for one night and spread it over 2 days! Even at one night only it was a LOT of food.

It looks like TIW started officially on 2/1/12 and it's $100.

You guys are there long enough TIW totally makes sense. While we don't save on DDP, we do break even and it's prepaid and makes the kids feel spoiled ordering whatever they want entree and dessert wise without having to ask about a dollar limit. I'll have to evaluate each trip and decide what to do.

It's a ton of food but being able to use it for two days would be nice. I can't even imagine trying to segment it. What a cluster. Everyone would use it for their buffet days for sure I'd think.

Thanks girl! We're getting it. We'd only have to spend $500 on food and drink to pay for it and with 6 of us over 12 days, I think that's feasible even with cooking a few meals and having most breakfasts in the villa.

Are you getting the DDP for your girls only trip? My kids are weird really. They share a lot by nature even desserts. We'd never order 5 desserts on vacation or otherwise. Now shakes with their meals are another story. Gosh they love their shakes.

I'm glad to hear you saved. We are big app and booze orderers so I see us saving a bundle. It's not rare for me to have an app and a side salad for my meal. Sometimes I like to drink my calories as well.

Heck yeah! And now that we can only have two active wait lists, I'm not sure what to do??? I mean, I'd love 5-6 CL nights but would take 3. So I'm kind of in a pickle. Also, CL can be at any point during the trip so.......what would you do? Our dates are Oct 14-25. I'm thinking of changing the THV to a 2 bedroom at SSR for Oct 14-19, changing the THV to a 2 bedroom at AKV (still haven't decided on Kidani or Jambo from Oct 19- 25. I'll do 2 CL wait lists for the AKV portion of the trip. We could start at AKV and then move to SSR but were generally more relaxed during the second half of the trip so I'd rather have that time at AKV. I just can't decide how to break up the two wait lists. Thoughts? Obviously I'd prefer CL last as not to move down so to speak but I'm all confuzzled at this point.

I wouldn't give up THV just because they're so hard to book. I would have a waitlist for CL at the end of your stay since you'd prefer to end at AKV. BUT you could always waitlist a few days at the beginning and a few at the end and see what you end up getting. I'm not sure how quickly SSR fills up. I'm guessing because there are so many rooms at SSR, it won't fill up as quickly as THV. Plus, for the same amount of points as a 2 br at SSR, you can get a 3 br THV.

I'm guessing since you're going in October, the Epcot resort (F&W) and MK resorts (MNSSHP) will fill up first.

If you know THV is definitely out, then I would switch to SSR. I've read that transportation is better at SSR than THV.

I'm sure once you let THV go, someone will snatch it up.

I'm 98% sure about no THV however Chloe can talk M into anything, we all can. He already said he really doesn't care but it would be nice to stay at SSR. We're keeping it more as a gesture of love than anything else. He has very little say in that sort of stuff and takes such good care of us. Clearly I'm not ready to let go of the THV dream.


It'll be gone for sure. There hasn't been availability for months so I'm sure there is a wait list. I'll be sharing some major pixie dust.

When I checked the day after we booked, only one night was available. Depending on our experience at BCV, that might become a permanent part of our annual August trip. I'd eventually like to try VWL and BWV.

I think that's the way we'll go if we can't score any club level at AKV. I'd love to do our big grill night with Jenna et al when we're at the THV as the grill is right at the villa.

You lucky lady- never had to wait list. I've had good luck with the GCV wait list but haven't waited anything at WDW as this is our first trip back since buying. I can't believe it will be over 3 years since we've been.

I don't think it will fill up although I could be wrong. I do know it's still available for the 4th of July and that's definitely a lot sooner. I'd be really reluctant to give up those THV dates until you know for sur and a very busy time, plus now that the points have been reallocated it's a better deal to do it this year than waiting. If you know for sure you don't want it, then no biggie but you won't get them back (I don't think) if you give them up.


You aren't targeting any of the Epcot resorts, I bet you will be fine, even past the 7 month mark with what you are looking at (with the exception of Concierge level).
