Hi everyone, just a quick question. we are going to orlando on may 2nd, me my wife and 2 boys (3and 5). we are going with my mum and husband so we will have a couple of nights without the kids. so my question is where would you recommend for us to go for nice food and a drink and a gooood time!!
thanks :)

Ohh...where to start...

You could have a meal at Downtown Disney and then on to Pleasure Island.

You could go to Jellyrolls (a duelling piano bar) at the Boardwalk, had a blast here last year:D

You could eat at one of the lovely restuarants like California Grill, Citrico's or V & A.

You could go to Citywalk, there are lots of lovely restaurants here.

Lots of this to do, let us know which area you fancy and I could be more specific:D :D

Jellyrolls is great fun for just sitting down, getting the drinks in and singing along - this place is strictly for those over 21. Very nice restaurants near here are Flying Fish or the Yachtsman.

Kimonos at the Swan is good if you like Karaoke. It does sushi but there is a very good Italian restaurant in the Swan called Palios or head over to the Dolphin and have one of the best steaks in town at Shulas (I haven't been to either of these restaurants but have heard good reports)

I really like the Adventurers Club in Pleasure Island it's such a laugh and very silly - there is a show that takes place in the library so don't be put off when you first walk in. There are loads of eateries in Downtown Disney and Westside for you to take your pick from.

..... there are an assortment of clubs you can visit in Pleasure Island - they are well described on the fixed DIS info here :-

..... we enjoyed visiting the clubs for a bop and then going onto Adventurers Club - great fun and probably something your parents would enjoy as well as you :)

You do need entry for Pleasure Island - it is included on Hopper PLUS passes, or Ultimate Park Hoppers, or you can of course pay for entry separately.

You haven't said where you're staying.
On Disney Pleasure Island would be a good choice with a number of clubs and restaurants to choose from ( you can eat at DTD if you prefer then walk to PI) , another choice on Disney would be Boardwalk. There are a number of restaurants and clubs there ( again you can eat at any of the restaurants in the Swan,Dolphin,Yacht or Beach club hotels before walking to the clubs on BW)

If you're near I-Drive Universal Escape has some good restaurants ( I like Jimmy Buffet's margaritaville, but Emeril's is the "quality" restaurant there is you fancy upmarket) and clubs. For a more relaxed ( non dancing) evening, Bahama Breeze on I-drive is nice food and usually has live reggae music played at the outside bar. Cafe tutu Tango gets good reviews as well.

sorry we are staying offsite this time, in the holiday inn international drive. hope this helps?

There are so many places!!

Seen as you are on I-Drive I would reccomend eating at a Universal Restaurant.

In Citywalk there is my favourite restaurant - Emerils - The waiters are extremely friendly and the food is to die for - have a look at the menu here: http://www.emerils.com/restaurants/orlando/index.htm
There is such a great atmosphere and it is beautifully themed. Afterwards or before your meal you could browse around The Citywalk's many shops and bars or visit the on-site cinema if you wanted too.

Also at Universal is Tchoup Chop (also by Emeril's) inside The Royal Pacific Resort. I haven't had the opportunity to eat here yet - but it looks amazing - http://www.emerils.com/emeril/press_rel_orlando_jan02.htm

For a less formal meal in Citywalk we also liked Latin Quarter - they have amazing chicken.

Plus there are the restaurants inside the resorts - we love Portofino Bay's italian food plus there is The Hard Rock Cafe.

I could go on forever about food!

Richard. :)
