Kidini Question

I know this is probably a stupid question but I really don't know if it has been answered. Is Kidani Village only for DVC members. I know it says it a DVC resort but I didn't know if the contract states that no matter what it is only for DVC members or if anyone can stay there. Either way it doesn't matter to me just kind of curious. Thanks in advance anyone.

The general public can book cash stays at any DVC resort.

To expand on DVC Mike's answer. This is what happens to points that are traded out of the resort, also Disney is the single largest holder of DVC points.

When you trade out, DVC takes cash and gives it to say DCL, and then takes the points and rent them out to cover the cash that was given DCL.

Disney (Resorts), uses them to rent out just like any other hotel space in inventory, including overflow space. Which is why in the past you might have seen people having a melt down on the boards. Because someone, non-DVC, paid for a value resort, got free dinning, and then got "upgraded" to SSR since the values where over booked. I remember about 2 falls ago, there being a huge thread about it.

The reason I asked the question in the first place is because everyone was making KIDANI Village seem as if only DVC members could stay, even ON DEMAND has a program about how DVC members can say they have something that no one else has, speaking of the new savanna that has different animals. The way they worded it on the program made it seem like no one else could stay there and I didn't know how that was possible.

The name has been misspelled so many ways on these boards I thought perhaps you might not know which of the many spellings was the correct one. My intent was to try to be helpful, not critical.

At the moment, Disney still owns a large portion of Kidani Village so there should be lots of rooms available there through Disney's CRO. Even after the resort is fully sold, Disney will always have some rooms available there as cash rentals. They will maintain ownership of about 2% of the resort (which they must do so that they can take rooms out of inventory for refurbishment), and they will have rooms available due to members trading out for Disney cruises or Disney resorts or options outside of Disney. There are also DVC members who rent out reservations at DVC resorts to non-members. See the "Read Me First" thread at the top of the DVC Rent/Trade Board for information on renting a reservation from a DVC member.

But when i was watching on demand about animal kingdom lodge/villas they were saying that there will be new animals on a savanna and people who are dvc members will get to go and say they have their own new savanna with their own new animals blah blah blah. just when they worded it they made it seem as if only dvc members could stay. and i thought people could book through CRO from trading out, since we traded this summer because we couldn't get back to Disney I understand what this means. Thanks, and i wasn't trying to be rude back just it kinda seemed as if everyone was worrying about spelling and not the question. there are also times my fingers get ahead of my brain. don't ask me how.

Well GuySmiley, you missed another one. I don't know why people fret over misspelled words. If we dissected every sentence, majority of this forum would need to be rewritten. Everyone makes mistakes, I know I do. As long as we understand what they are saying/meaning....who really cares.

I am used to my blackberry which always capitalizes my i's and corrects my spelling lol. I know I know dang young kids and their high tech gadgets. They need to make their brain do the work blah blah blah.
