Okay I have a question about the fun stops in Epcot. Where exactly are they? Are they inside in each country, are they outside? Do they cost anything? What exactly do the kids do? I know it is alot at one time but I heard about this and I thought that this might help my kids enjoy Epcot more?

Thanks everyone

Unless it's changed (it's been the same every time we've been, the last being January this year)...your kid gets a mask on a stick of sorts, about the size of a ruler. In the 1st country they go to they can decorate the mask (I suppose you can keep decorating it in others) with markers. The CM puts on a die-cut symbol of that country on it and a stamp of the country on the stick. Each country adds a symbol to it unti. In either China or Japan they've also written my DD's name in that language. It's a fun diversion for DD while I shop (DH stays with her of course) and a chance for her to have a chat with someone from that country. Sometimes the lines are long and there's a 10 minute or so wait. We generally spend a lot of time in WS so we don't wait in line, but come back to that country another day.

HTH!

ETA: they're in each pavillion...sometimes I have to ask where they are because it's not always the most obvious thing.

I found that most of them are in toy shop type places...at least that's what it seemed like to me when we went last year.

I will add that it is totally free, but there are "Passports" that you can buy and get stamped at each country.

On our last trip, we purchased an autograph book (6.95) and had the member from each country write a brief message in it. I like it better than the passport (9.95) that we bought on the previous trip.

I'm glad to see that they still have those stations. Even though I have no idea if either of my kids(dds 14 & 7 mo) will be the right age to participate when I ever get back again :confused3 :rolleyes1 :worried:

We bought passport books for the boys (ages 12 and 9), and they enjoyed getting them stamped at each country's station, and they also asked the CM's to write their names in the different countries' languages. Usually the CM's wrote little mesages in addition to their names, and it sparked some great conversations about the different languages. At several of the countries they gave the boys little cards with a map of the country on one side, and info on the other, and they'd write things on the cards too. I kept those for the scrapbook. I would highly recommend getting the passports - it gets the kids involved, and is educational without the kids realizing it! And we enjoyed talking to the CM's as well.

Our 2yo enjoyed the mask thing - she would color on it at each station, and at some of the stations they would give her special things like stickers to put on it, in addition to the paper things. In Japan, the nice girl made her an origami Mickey and taped it on her mask. So cute! The boys at first thought they were too old for the masks, but by the end of the trip they were doing them as well lol.

Sometimes the stations were easy to find, and other times we had to ask where they were. Mexico's is especially nice - there's a whole upstairs section with things for the kids to touch, and computer screens to push buttons on - they loved that.

Have fun!

In addition to the World Showcase, we found one in at Test Track in their gift shop when we went in Jan. 05. My then 2 y.o. DD enjoyed that. I believe that she received a plastic badge of sorts w/ 2 paper cut-outs on a metal chain to wear as a necklace. She did some coloring at this station as well.

Does anyone know of any other kidcot stations in Future World or if the TT one is still there?

The Kidcot stations are marked with signs but when in doubt...ask. My kids also enjoyed doing the penny presses in each country. We taught our dd4 how to say hello in each country's native language which she was very proud of when she spoke to the CM's!
Have fun. EPCOT turned out to be our favorite park!!

We were at WDW for Thanksgiving last year, which also coincided with my youngest DDs 11th birthday. For her birthday, she got to choose the park we would spend the day in, and she chose Epcot. I had heard about the masks and thought it would be fun. She had a blast! She had a birthday greeting from each country, and translated it into English so she would remember what each CM wrote. Even our 17 yr. old DD joined in and had them personalize a greeting for her. We were able to locate the stations by following the map that you get upon entering. I think I will have her do the passports this year so it can count for credit at school. At any rate, it occupied most of the day, and cost us nothing but shoe leather. :bitelip:
