Kidani vs Jambo

I am a long time member planning our next trip to WDW. We want to try AKV, but the point chart is confusing. I have been looking at the point charts, but I am not sure which catagories ensure a Kidani Villa. How can I make sure I am not staying at Jambo?

I'm not an expert on this at all...

I THINK all Concierge and Value rooms are in Jambo.

I definitely know that when you reserve your rooms, member services will tell you whether they have Kidani or Jambo available.

I know that when we reserved for our January trip, I asked about AKV, and they told me specifically that JAMBO was available. That was great for us because we are going with friends who are staying at the lodge.

Your reservation will be specifically for Jambo or Kidani. As far as reservations, they are treated as 2 different resorts.

this is accurate.

so stay away from value and concierge offerings and tell MS that you want kidani and you're good to go.

We just returned from a stay at Kidani although we have never stayed at Jambo House. The pool/playground area at Kidani seemed better suited for younger kids. The extra bathroom in 1 bedroom/2 bedroom units is a plus for a larger party but the proximity to more places to eat is a plus at Jambo. If you will have a car, you can park closer to your unit at Kidani. I would love to try the concierge at Jambo House though and the value units there could be point stretchers.

if you are going with a studio - then do Jambo house.

for the 1-bedroom and up the extra room in your villa is worth it for Kidani

for a studio being close to the restuarants at Jambo House makes up for a lot
