Hello!
Just got back from staying at Kidani Village for 3 nights in a standard studio. I rented points from a DVC member.
Anyway - everything went smoothly! Arrived at the resort at about 5pm and our room was ready, Garden Grocer delivery had arrived, and a stroller rental from Magic Strollers had arrived. We (me and my DSIL) asked for a crib at Check-in and they brought one right up.
The studios aren't huge, but we managed even with the crib, stroller, and using the sleeper sofa. Definitely recommend requesting the crib - while it's not full-size - it was nicer than a pack n play! Had to move stuff around to fit everything in, but we had workable space in the room. Had to move a chair in and out of the way to use the balcony.
I didn't realize it would be a full-size coffee pot - and had only brought filters for a small one. I just made little pots as not to end up with grounds in my coffee! More paper products and plastic silverware than we could possibly use. Would have liked a second bar of soap in the bathroom as we aren't shower gel people.
We were located in room 7515 - top floor but it did face the bus stop. We didn't really hear the buses most of the time - only the beeping noise they make when loading/unloading a wheelchair or scooter. Didn't hear voices from there. We did hear maintenance power washing the sidewalk at 4 am though! Luckily, it wasn't loud enough to wake the baby - only us adults.
We think we had neighbors on one side of us based on a couple crashes at one point, but if we had neighbors on the other side - we never heard them!
We also never heard people in the hall. The resort didn't feel busy.
For us, it was okay there is no food court at Kidani. The one time we wanted a light lunch in the room, we found plenty of choices in the grocery section of the resort store. There is a drink refill station (and coffee) in the resort store.
We ate at Sanaa one night - and my DSIL who does not normally eat Indian food did really like the tandoori chicken and rice she ordered. She wasn't sure about the sauces - but the meat tasted great. We did the bread service - something I would definitely recommend. I eat alot of Indian food - and well - I ordered two vegetarian items - and they were good, but not great. Service was good and it was a nice setting. Calm, quiet.
The walk to Jambo House from the lobby shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes unless you walk REALLY slow. We thought the pathway was well-marked and it was a pleasant walk. I think we made it back in ten minutes - and that was with a stroller. They will transport you between the lodges - but they don't have a car seat available. With a stroller - you either have to walk or take the regular Disney buses.
Only annoying thing was how LOUD the central fan was! I've stayed at moderates and value resorts at Disney and never noticed the HVAC working. In our room - whenever it was on - it was LOUD. I also don't love that the fan turned on every time you walk into the bathroom. Next time I will take something so I can block the sensor. In contrast, my DSIL liked the feature.
We loved the theming of the resort. Bus service was as to be expected - no exceptionally long waits. The ride back from DTD at midnight with a sleeping baby and cranky adults did seem long, though.
Otherwise - we had a great time taking my 14 mo niece for the first time. She LOVED character interactions, liked rides, and enjoyed shows. We had a blast!
Now I am totally psyched to go back to WDW yet again this year!!!
