Aside from getting a taxi.....I'm assuming that I need to take a bus to the MK and they use the monorail to get to the Poly for an ADR at Ohana. Is that right? Any other ways? I'm also guessing that I would use basically the same route to get to Chef Mickeys.

Thanks in advance for the help.

We did both these trips last year and got the bus to Magic Kingdom, then monorail to both but you could walk from MK to Contemporary. I would allow an hour for both trips but if on a tight schedule allow 1.5 hours or get a cab

Or...
Bus to DTD and then bus to Poly/MK and reverse.
This is the issue I have with DDP and trying to find good table service restaurants. Many are at hotels or not in the parks and getting to/from is a pain. I wish they had a good way to get to/from restaurants.

We've finally started renting a car. This past trip we needed to get to California Grill, Chef Mickey's, Yacht Club (Illuminations Cruise). Our last trip we were on DDP and it was worse.

I would not recommend going via DTD as it almost certainly will take much longer

I agree, either waste the time or spend 20 mins in a cab.

As the PPs have noted, bus to the MK is your best bet to get from Kidani (or any resort other than one of the monorail resorts) to the Poly or CR. From the MK you can monorail to either resort, walk to the CR or take a boat to the Poly via the GF.

DTD only makes sense as a transfer point for resort-to-resort transfers when all of the parks are closed or maybe if you're trying to get to or from SSR and can walk to or from there to DTD.

Is your reservation for breakfast or dinner? For a later breakfast or dinner, another option is to take the bus to Epcot and then monorail to the TTC. From there, hop on the resort monorail. Next stop is the 2nd floor of the Polynesian where 'Ohana is located. It is also about a 8-10 minute walk from the TTC to the GCH.

This route can be faster than the MK bus and then resort monorail or small launches (which don't operate as early BTW). Another option from the MK is the large ferry to the TTC but again it doesn't operate until I think 8:30am.

Personally, I'd take whichever bus came first...Epcot or MK.

For an early breakfast, many people report having good luck getting dropped off by a bus driver headed to the MK...if they have time.

Could always go to AK and then the bus from there.

One nit with the Epcot approach is that I believe you have to go through the Epcot security check to get to the ramp to board the monorail. Depending on what time you're at Epcot, this could add to your time, and is certainly an annoyance.

Agree with this one - always tell your driver when heading to a breakfast in the MK area - for breakfasts at the Poly or GF, I believe they would drop you off *after* their stop at the MK, but this may still be faster than catching the monorail or the boat.
