Hi. I just booked a one bedroom savanna view at Kidani Village. I am looking for suggestions on room location requests for the best views.

At most resorts, I hope for the highest possible floor. Kidani is the exception, as you're closer to the animals on the lower floors. We had great animal viewing on the 2nd floor, near the Zazu elevator, but I doubt it matters much where you're positioned on the wings. I'd request lower floor facing the Savanna with giraffes (forgot the name, maybe Sunset?).

I'd request the same floor as the main lobby. We had a great view from there and the benefit of not having to wait for elevators!

Make sure you state Sunset Savannah, and it is not guaranteed.
Our last visit was over the Pembe Savannah. We saw more wild deer in the field outside of the fence than animals inside the fence. We did have a great view of an offsite high rise and highway noise echoing from somewhere.

We own Kidani and haven't been back after that experience. The upgrade to Savannah view was a complete waste of DVC points.

oh no! that sounds awful. that happened to us years ago at the Beach Club villas. Our balcony overlooked the truck entrance road for EPCOT. Waste of points staying there! We own at OKW and have stayed at every resort but AKL. I will definitely request Sunset and keep my fingers crossed.

See my recommendations here: https://www.disboards.com/threads/kidani-village.3502722/#post-55575268 (though the thread relates to 2BRs, my post applies equally to 1BRs, all of which are part of 2BR lock-offs at Kidani)

Thank you! Your review was great. I hadn't even thought of the long hallways! When we stayed at VWL our room was the very last room at the end of the hall. My kids hated it!

Would requesting a room close to transportation give you a good view? Since it wouldn't be far from the lobby - where they try to draw the animals for the masses?

As to drawing animals to locations, they actually have little feeding areas at different places from one end of the savanna to other with the result that animals are attracted to all areas along the savanna. Requesting close to transportation is otherwise a decent request that like other areas usually gives good views of animals; other requests that accomplish close to transportation are close to community hall or close to the Timon elevator.

Are there any suggestions on how to get a good standard view room (I wish I could have got the savanna view but it was not available) We will be there for 9 nights starting next week !!!!!!

At Kidani we like to be on the wing between the lobby and the pool near the elevator. We've never had a less than awesome stay at Kidani or Jambo, but I do prefer not to spend the extra points on a savannah view.

At kidani with savanah view last December, it was wonderful. Our room number was 7624 near the Rafiki elevator on the second floor which is the same level as the lobby. I would certainly recommend this area of Kidani.

If you mean at Kidani, the standards that are ones converted from savanna view all overlook Pembe savanna and requesting room "near the Pumba elevator" gives decent chance of getting one with a savanna view. If at Jambo request a room "along Kudo trail," since the standards on that side of the building are all savanna view rooms converted to standard. Assuming you are not too late to make requests, any request should be made through Member Services (if you are a renter then request owner to put in the request to MS) and not via the request page during online check-in which should be ignored.

thanks !!!!
Sorry I forgot to say Kidani
I am the member so I can call member services on Monday to add the request.
We check in on Saturday do you think it is too late to make the request ??

Please note my correction above. I meant Pumba elevator not Timon. I do not know whether a request first made during last week before arrival is one that will actually be considered. I just assume there is some point beyond which making requests thru MS becomes too late.

We will be staying there with a Savannah view in May 2018. We prefer to drive to the parks because my grandson has some medical issues. I was told that Kidani has a parking garage? What rooms have a good view that are closed to the parking garage?

Parking garage is under the resort, all rooms have access through stairways and elevators.
