Will the entire Kidani Village be DVC when completed or mixed use?

That is one huge project; maybe there will be more room for me at 7 months :)

Kidani Village will be all DVC. I expect it will not be too difficult to get a Savanna View room there at 7 months since they make up 80% of the resort. The less expensive rooms (Standard View and especially the Value rooms which are only in Jambo House) will be difficult and Concierge (Jambo House only) will be next to impossible given there are only 5 2BR lockoffs total available.

Yep, and that's why we are doing concierge now, because I figure we wont ever be able to get it again.

What does the concierge rooms give you that the others don't? I've seen the point chart and understand watch each can offer but this level......can anyone fill me in???

Do we have any idea when Kidani will start being able to let people stay there? We're planning on a vacation with the In-laws for May of 2009 and want a two bedroom at AKL but I'm afraid unless Kidani is open that's a far off dream since we'd have to book at the 7 month window.

The original date given for when "phase 1" would open was "early 2009". That info was later removed from the website and we've been given no official information since then. However there are rumors that construction is way ahead of schedule and some part of Kidani may be open by the end of this year. There are other clues that a good part of Kidani could be finished by April 15, 2009. But I want to emphasize that these are all still rumors!! Your 7-month booking window doesn't open until Oct 2008 so we will know a lot more by then I'm sure.

I haven't done the math. But, I think AKV is somewhat similar in size to BWV. I suspect booking at 7 months will be similar to the odds at BWV. especially for the limited booking categories.

Once completed, AKV will be the third largest of the DVC resorts. Here's the room breakdown:
Rooms: 458 (max 708)
Dedicated Studio: 46
Dedicated One Bedroom: 0
Dedicated Two Bedroom: 140
Lockoff Two Bedroom:
(Each can be booked separately as One Bedroom + Studio)
250
Three Bedroom Grand Villa: 22

Buildings: 2
Units per building: 134 Jambo House; 324 Kidani Village
