Our home resort, OKW, is not available for all the days we want in October. We're considering checking out Kidani Village this time. One concern...my mother has severe problems with her knees and can't walk very far and stairs are nearly out of the question. I drove through the parking lot at Kidani on a recent trip but wasn't thinking about this. Did I see ground floor parking right under the rooms? She has a handicapped parking tag. Are there elevators from the parking level to the villas? I know it's a long walk to Jambo House so we'd either use the bus or drive her over. Thanks for your help!

The parking garage is under the resort. When you check-in, they will tell you which elevator bank is the closest to your room. (You can even ask to be by a specific elevator bank depending on the room type.) There are a good amount of handicap spots next to the elevator banks. You shouldn't have a problem and may even be easier then OKW.

You should be able to park near the elevator closest to you room in the "underground garage". This will be very convenient for your Mom. Enjoy your stay.

We were at Kidani in Jan with my parents. Mom had both of her knee's replaced, and dad has a bum knee and is actually worse off than my mom.
It was ideal being at Kidani with cars. The garage was rarely full, and we usually parked within a spot or two of the elevator. Our room was then only about 3 doors down from that. It was very convenient for my parents, and my guess it would be even more so if you have a handicap spot for parking.

I would request to have a room near an elevator at booking due to a medical need. I'm sure they would do their best to honor it.

I stayed at Kidani last summer and the parking was a definite plus. The elevators take you straight up to your floor, no going through the lobby. It was June and was over 90 degrees it was nice having covered parking.

Hi! My mom has had 3 brain surgeries and is very unstable to walk long distances. I noted on our reservation for us to be near the transportation and loby. We parked and rode the elevator up and she could make it with no problem during our brief stay. We did borrow a wheelchair from the front desk for the park and DTD. She's already asked about going again!!! Have a wonderful time!!

P.S. Kidani is also the first to load the bus to all parks so this made it easier for her to get a seat each time. We were also the first to unload. This does not apply to the DTD bus.

Is there parking under ALL the rooms? From looking at the map, it would appear that several of the outer sections don't have parking.

Just wondering.... we arrive there Saturday and I would prefer not to have to walk a mile considering that is what we will be doing in the parks.

We stayed at Kidani in April and had no problem parking near the elevator. We were in the Rafiki section and there was an elevator right near our room that went straight down to the parking garage. It also had the bonus of being across from the pool. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for all of your help! We weren't able to get into Kidani for this trip but I now cannot wait to go there! It's a beautiful resort and it sounds really great for my mom.

Kidani has two wings, north and south. The parking runs all the way through each wing to the end. There are two elevators spaced out along each wing. No matter where your room is, you can park fairly close to it.
