A few random thoughts:

Here at Kidani Village now and I have to admit I was a little nervous as everyone has varying opinions, but we LOVE it. Room is great (1BR standard view), we are the first bus stop to get off when coming back from parks, and getting on to go to the parks as well, and great pool. It is not as far from everything as I initially thought, only about a 13 minute bus ride back to the resort from Epcot last night. It has helped me immensely to eat less because there is no QS :rotfl2: so DH and I have said we really have cut down on our usual eating since there is not easy access to food. For some, this may be a down side, but we have not minded it. Jambo is a farrrrrrr walk (15 minute walk is far to me :)) but Sanaa is great, and VERY reasonably priced. I was amazed at our bill total for the 4 of us for dinner, and it's right downstairs. Also, you can get room service that comes from Sanaa but of course it's more expensive than if you just went to the restaurant.

I would probably never waste points on a savanna view simply because if I walk down the hall a few feet from my room and look out the big window, I can see the savanna. That being said, we are not people who sit out on the balcony all that much, so take that opinion with a grain of salt.

EDIT to say one negative was the dark lighting in the room, I forgot to mention that.

Hi - how are the activities scheduled for young kids? Do they still do the movie nights and bonfires? How about 'pool party' type things?

Glad you are having a great time!

I am so glad you love Kidani. I love how cozy the whole resort feels yet still has that African touch mixed with all the great things about Disney. You are making me want to go back!

Glad to hear the good report! I'm waiting for the systems to go back up to make our reservation for Sept 23. Hopefully, we will be able to get it! If not, we will go with our old standby-Jambo House:)

My DW & I love sitting on the balcony watching the animals. When we were there last time, we had friends staying with us and her mom said she could spend an entire day sitting watching animals.

We really love Kidani, even with the long hallways and long walk to Jambo. We purchased AKV unseen on a DCL and have not regretted it. Glad you enjoy it.

We love Kidani everything is just amazing! Love the pool activites, the animals and coming home at night how it is lit up

Thanks for your review! We are going in May! We can't wait to stay in Kidani!

We loved our stay at Kidani too and totally agree on the standard view. We are hoping to snag one for our Thanksgiving stay, but we're not holding our breath. When we went it was just DH and I, and we really want the kids to be able to experience the resort. We'll see....

We love Kidani! I'm glad you are enjoying it so much. We love the bus service to and from the parks. Being able to get on an empty bus to the parks is priceless! :cool1: We have stayed in two standard view rooms over the past two year. The first was on the 4th floor looking down on the bus stop. Not a great view, but it was December, it was dark at night, and we were in the parks most nights until late, so view didn't matter. Last fall, we had a standard view facing the pool area. We were just to the left of the fence for the Pembe savanna and we basically felt like we had a savanna view. If you have extra points to do a savanna view sometime, I would recommend it. Although the resort does have several excellent viewing areas, there is something very special about being able to sit on your balcony and look out onto the savanna.

We love Sanaa! We are staying at BWV next month, but we will make a special trip to Kidani for dinner at Sanaa.

Enjoy the rest of your stay!!:thumbsup2

Glad you're enjoying Kidani.:). We own there and have stayed stwice and love it. We did spring for the savannah view and have no regrets. We really enjoyed coming back to the resort for our mid afternoon break and finding many animals right outside our balcony enjoying the afternoon rain. But it's true that there are many places to see the animals other than from the villa so staying standard is a good way to save points.

Enjoy the rest of your trip!:thumbsup2

The pool activities were great. They went on from about 1-4pm with games, and then there was something at 5pm (sorry can't remember what) and movie was at 7pm I believe. There was a movie every night, some that I saw on the chalkboard by pool were Toy Story and a Mickey movie that I hadn't heard of. My kids are 6 and 3 and they enjoyed the pool games very much. The trivia was a bit over their head, but good for the parents and older kids.

Great to hear your experience we just bought AKV and have never stayed there so we have been reading up! Makes us excited to try it! Have a good rest of the trip! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you had such a great time at Kidani. I was going to book a standard view 1 bedroom for a January stay, but since a value 1 bedroom was available at Jambo, I just went with that. I love the resort and have good feelings about either Jambo or Kidani!:goodvibes

Thanks for the review! Our trip in April is 3 nights at BLT, then 4 nights at an AKV Kidani standard view! We have an ADR for Boma one night. We've only been to AKL to eat at Boma before, and are SSR members branching out and trying new resorts. Had no trouble booking this at 7 months out, even checking in on Good Friday!
