Kidani Village Construction Pics from 1/8

So how is the constructionin the area, in the main building? Is it all done? Does the construction bother you if you stay there? I am going on MOnday Jan 14th and staying till the 19th, Just wonderig.:cool1:
I was on the 6th floor Concierge on the Sunset Savannah and I didn't see or hear any construction at Jambo House.

I THINK those "metal bars" indicate where the walkways will be.

If you look at the buildings, it looks like the walkways will be on ONE side of the buildings, with a villa on the other. So there won't be villas on BOTH sides of the hallways...only one. That's the way it looks to me.

If that's the case, then wouldn't that mean there would be no parking lot view villas? :woohoo: Every villa faces the savannah -- so what would qualify as a "standard view" room in Kidani? :confused3

This is the construction map they published back when they first started selling AKV. It looks like the very end of the Kidani Village building on the Jambo House side is only one villa wide but the rest of the building is two villas wide.

If you look closely, there is ONE or TWO buildings where the "hallway" is actually in the "back" of the building. Honestly, it's hard to tell even looking at the building "live" for me. We slid by again this AM on our way out and I still can't get a good feeling on how they're setting the building up.

Great pictures. I am getting excited seeing all the progress being made.

Great Job! These are by far the best photos I have seen of AKV construction. Glad to see that they are going all steel and Concrete. Looks like it is built to last. (although right now it looks like a prison)

If I remember correctly SSR had those same steel when they were building. . .stayed there in June 2004

Thanks for the pictures everyone :thumbsup2 I will be going down in June :goodvibes

Lisa, looking at the pre-construction map makes it look like there are a LOT of parking lot view rooms. Since Kidani has no value rooms, are those all standard rooms? If so, that would make the Jambo house value rooms with teh chance of a savanna view an even better value than standard! Not sure why there would be so many parking lot views!

Yes those would be Standard View rooms and I agree there seem to be a lot of them that have a view of the entrance road and those small parking areas out front. I know there are already a lot of booking categories at AKV but I still find it surprising they didn't separate out "pool view" and "road/parking lot view".

The thing that might sway people one way or the other would be that the Standard View rooms in Kidani will be larger than the Standard View rooms in Jambo (for 1BRs and 2BRs, studios are about the same) and therefore MUCH larger than the Value rooms in Jambo and you get the extra bathroom in Kidani.

The pool view rooms at Kidani seem to be limited to the 2 buildings closest to the pool. And even with those buildings, I'm not sure that you'd even end up with very good views of the pool anyway. If I'm not mistaken, I believe there will be parking between the pool at Kidani and the rooms with a pool view.

Just an update:

We never were able to get more shots "down the road". The next day we were going to make the attempt, but they must have been expecting a delivery of heavy equipment/materials because they had flag men at the "road block" site where the sign saying the road was closed except to CM's and construction traffic. :(
