We have a 6 night stay at a savannah view (Kidani) studio. We have never stayed at AKL before. I have read a bunch about the long hallways.

Can anyone suggest a savannah or room number or floor that would be best. My daughter loves giraffes, so that would be the most important animal. We wont have a car so it will be all bus transportation and we plan on using the pool.

I know when we stayed at BLT last year the thread listing all the rooms and their views was very helpful.

Also if anyone has room view pics of savannah that would be great to share with my wife

Last year we requested near the lobby. It was perfect. Very close to the bus stop, laundry room, arcade, members hall... Would take that location again in a heart beat. It also is not on the pembe savannah.

You will want to have MS note on the reservation that you would like the Sunset Savanna. Of the two savannas that Kidani Village faces, only the Sunset has Giraffes.

The other is the Pembe which has Okapi and Red River Hogs.

Thanks for the Savannah view,

Is a lower floor better, and are the numbers lower closer to the elevator like normal hotels.

My standard Kidani request is "close to the lobby, lower floor."

We said at AKV and had room 7945. It was a 1br. on Pembe Savannah. DW and I saw animals 20-22 hrs a day. There were 3 spot lites aims right near the room and animals hung out there in the light for safety. It was great. I didn't see any giraffe or zebras.:confused3 But I did get to see some 15-20 animals and one time at least 1-2 times a day. A bit of a walk to the lobby and we parked in the shade as close as we could.

That's because the Pembe Savana does not have any giraffes; only the Sunset Savana does.

My request is "Sunset Savana, close to the lobby, 2nd floor." You will be about eye-level with the giraffes and easy walking distance to the lobby, pool, and bus stop.

We were in room 7906 in February, and it was perfect. It was on the left side of the Lobby, very close to the lobby elevator. We saw giraffe, zebras, and a variety of other animals. I'd be happy with that location every time.

I am sorry but cannot remember our room number.I know we were in the sunset savanna in kidani on the top floor and our room was 5 down from the elevator. It was a studio though not a one bedroom. We had giraffes(with a baby) zebras, ostrich(I think) and some clicky hooved antelope looking animal:lmao: though very cute. Hope these pics help a bit. Sorry they are a bit large. We are staying in a one bed this year in Kidani again.

Thanks again everyone. Pics helped also. So we are going to shoot for sunset savannah, second floor close to elevator and we will hope for the best.

You said "close to elevator" but did you mean "close to the lobby?" There are many elevators in Kidani so if you request "close to elevator," you may end up close to an elevator but far away from the lobby, pool, and bus stop.

With never being there I guess I mean closer to getting to buses, pool etc. not sure if you have to go thru lobby or,not.

The bus stop and pool are close to the lobby, so I would recommend you requesting "Sunset Savana, close to LOBBY, 2nd floor." Like I said in my previous post, if you request "close to elevator" you may end up on the last "bead" close to that elevator, but you will be a LONG walk to the buses and pool.

edited to add:
(You don't have to go through the lobby to get to the pool, so if you really want to be close to the pool, request "close to pool" instead of "close to lobby." You will still be close to the bus stop which you do go through the lobby to get to.)
