I'm SURE this has been answered somewhere but I'm going to ask again anyway. :rolleyes1

I've found that I 'only' have a standard view room at Kidani. Anyone know of any request (I know it's a request only and not a guarantee) that might give me a view of something other than a parking lot?? :confused3

The parking lot is underground at Kidani... a standard view is usually of the port cochere and the surrounding swampland, and the small guest parking lot. It's not that bad of a view.

If you look past the parking lots and roads, it is actually quite pretty across the street from Kidani. There is a small pond, tennis courts, grills and pavilion.

Last time we had a room just by the buses it was fantastic. Very close to walk to get on the bus and to community hall, arcade, laundry. Gift shop which had the mugs. 3 months later we had a savanah view and we were in one of the last villas. Lucky for me I have no mobility issues but if I did it would have been a problem. We really prefer the standard rooms.

We had a 2bed dedicated standard view. It overlooked the bus stop. Not much of a view but every night we could see fireworks, I assume from magic kingdom.

We looked out at the swampland, main road that leads to Jambo, gazebo, bball courts. If you stood up and looked straight down off our balcony you could see the valet parking lot, with maybe 2-3 cars all week. It was a nice view.

We had a standard view at Kidani last time. We requested to be close to the lobby and ended up with a room on the third floor just down the hall closer to the pool. We had a view of the entrance. I like being able to people watch. It was fun seeing children get off the bus and being so excited. Plus, we could see the surroundings. it was actually quite nice.

What size room?
We had a standard view Studio and were right on the edge of the Savannah. We were very pleased. An extra bonus seeing animals from the balcony!

I have a SV studio booked for Labor Day weekend. Any idea what number you were in?

Last time we were at AKL we spent just as much time watching the animals from the public areas as from our room.

We're in a 1BR :thumbsup2

When I think about it, when we stayed at OKW we sat out on the balcony just in the mornings for half an hour or so to sip coffee. When we stayed at SSR I went out on the balcony maybe twice....it was too hot. :rotfl:

So really how much time are you in the room anyway, you know?

:) DH and I had our first standard Kidani room in May. We were the very first room of the elevator--left of the lobby, pool side. We were right over bell services. It was a great loaction so close to the lobby.

Bell services is a wonderful location for watching humans on the concrete savanna. :3dglasses

Can you tell my cup in Disney is ALWAYS half full (no, no not of booze--koolaid). :rotfl2:

Request a pool view and kindly ask the CM at check in for a pool view. We were on the opposite side from the lobby and it was total parking lot. I hated it so much. It ruined the whole effect of the room. This beautiful African themed room with yellow parking lot stripes glaring through the window. Yuck.

We had a SV Studio at Kidani, and requested to be near the pool. We had a pool view(well, a driveway and pool view, as there is a driveway between the building and the pool), and were quite happy with it. We didn't have a long walk to the pool, and the walk to the lobby/bus stop wasn't bad either. :goodvibes
