Ok who's got info about standard view rooms at Kidani? :surfweb: Do you have any pics of this type of room? Where are these rooms located? Are there any that are not of the first floor?:confused3

We are trying to see what our options are for 13 days in July 12', and so far a standard view room will only cost us $165, to rent the 11 points we are short, but we really don't want to be on the first floor. We are hoping that we can have a balcony regardless of the view. Thanks in advance for any help you can give us. :worship:

We stayed in a Kidani standard studio for 6 nights in August 2009 and loved it. I believe we were on the third floor and our balcony overlooked the parking lot. We loved our stay there. It was one of our favorite trips to WDW. We tried to get a savannah view, but there wasn't one available. As it turned out there were many opportunities to see the animals and we really didn't miss the savannah view. We'd do it again in a heartbeat!
We're going back next month and will be trying a Jambo value studio, but our hearts will be in Kidani.

Thanks Keith that link was very helpful.

Thanks for your input. I'm sure we will be happy with a standard view room. I don't expect us to be spending much time in the room anyway.

We were on the 3rd floor of Kidani, overlooking the bus stop. But then we had a pipe explode in the bathroom so we got upgraded to Savannah view. I swear they planned it, because now I can never go back to standard!

We had a second floor standard view that was a little past the bus stop. It was total parking lot...I hated it.

I just returned from staying in a standard view studio last week. I was on the main floor in the third bead away from the lobby. I asked for pool view instead of parking lot and I did overlook the back of the pool bar. The room was quiet (no bus noise) and I would take it again. :thumbsup2 The location was ideal for going straight down to the pool. I believe that the floors above the 2nd floor are also standard view if they overlook the pool. In reality, you don't see the actual pool since the vegetation is so thick, but that's ok. And the studio is the normal size, so I had lots of space. It also had a full-size balcony. I still had lots of opportunity to see animals in all of the viewing areas.

We just stayed in a standard view Kidani studio at the beginning of February. My friends needed a handicapped room and they were on the first (I guess this actually the second floor as was pointed out below) floor. It was right off the lobby and even with the roadway out front. My room was ready in the 3rd section on the pool side but on the 5th floor. They let me change since my friends wanted to keep me close in case they needed help. I think the 5th floor room would have looked over the parking roadway and pool. The room I ended up in was in the first section on the first(second/lobby) floor on the pool side. I had a view of everyone driving up to the front of the resort but it was quiet.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay in this room view again. We enjoyed all the look outs on the Savannah and the resort is so peaceful and relaxing.
Well worth the fewer points to us!

I stayed in a standard view room in January. I was on the 4th floor. It was not a far walk once you got off the main elevator. The room over looked part of the parking lot that was just past the portico, but not as far as the bus stop area. There was a full size balcony.
It was okay, I've stayed in savanah view rooms before and quite honestly I prefer having a savanah view. Yes there are pleny of areas through out Kidani to view the animals, but I truly enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the animals.
My trip was booked last minute and there were no savanah view studios left, so I booked the standard view.
I'm going with my family in May and I've booked savanah views for that trip and going forward as long as I have the points I will book a savanah view room.

There are no first floor rooms at Kidani, first floor is parking. The lobby is on the 2nd floor.

We have stayed in a standard 2 times on was by the tennis courts on the 5th floor. The second was very near CH and the arcade! It was awesome. Our stay in Jan had a SV it was not very good as we were almost to the very end I was traveling with my 79 Mom. I now will stay at Standard.

Did all of you request upon arriving or did you submit your request with MS? We will be flying in from California, and will probably arrive around check-in time. Should we do online check-in and request a pool view? Is that even possible? Thank you, thank you for answering my barrage of questions!! :worship:

We checked out of a standard view studio at Kidani on Thursday. We were on the 3rd floor, room 7715. If we were looking out of our balcony, we saw the fence of the pool to our right and straight out we saw the lobby entrance and the bus stop. Not a spectacular view, but we don't spend time on the balcony. It was actually nice while we were getting ready in the morning to gauge the bus situation and the crowds.

We were in a SV room for 5 days last october and honestly we didn't spend that much time on the balcony. My youngest daughter spent maybe a total of 10 minutes on the balcony (I'm pointing out the animals to her and she has no interest at all). I actually spent the most time, but I wouldn't have any problem walking to the public viewing areas if need be. So for us going forward it'll be standard view so we can save the points. For us, the #1 thing is the pool.

We've had SV at Kidani a couple times. Both times, we had a view of the pool and a tiny sliver of the Pembe savannah near the pool. I wouldn't hesitate to request the same rooms.

Because I had waitlisted my last night and it did come through, I was not able to do the on-line check-in. However, I did call MS to request that my standard view room be on the pool end of the lobby, not the bus stop end. I was in a perfect place in the third bead - room 7631 on the 2nd floor. It was not too far from the lobby.
