Kidani - please tell me about it

Our home resort is SSR, but my heart belongs to AKL/AKV

We were able to get a 1-bdrm savannah view at Kidani Village for our Nov trip but I have a few questions. I know that Kidani is opening next month. Is the entire resort expected to be opened by Nov or will there be construction going on? Will the animals be on the savannah by then? I'm assuming that the pool and waterplay area will be fully operational by then. Is that correct?

I'll be there in November, as well. I was hoping that the whole resort would be open, but my kids are just excited to be going back to WDW and seeing something new. We've never even seen the lodge yet.

My husband and I stayed at AKL in 2007, before part of it was converted to DVC rooms, and we LOVED it then! We truly felt like we were vacationing in another country while at the resort. It was amazing! Now that we have we our DD, we're excited to see it all through her eyes.

We are going in Nov. as well, arriving on Thanksgiving Day. We have a 1BR Savannah View.

We did visit the lodge in Jan. and checked out the savannah and the construction. The animals were amazing! I can't wait to be able to sit on my balcony and watch them, so relaxing. I was afraid I wouldn't like the dark woods and stuff, but with the dim lighting, it was actually very peaceful in the lobby area despite there being lots of people around.

We'll be there checking in on May 17th. I plan on making posts here on the boards. I know others who are also checking in during May will be making posts.

So in about another month many questions will be answered for sure.

I was told when we first made our reservation that there would be construction noises for the length of our stay. We expected this anyway.

We'll be there the same time. Member services told us that the pool and Sanaa will be opening the first week of May and that there will be animals in our savanna view.

Yes, AKV and AKL will share buses.

As far as animals on the savannah, they better be there or I better being getting a refund of some points for the 2 BR savannah view I have booked.

I've heard that busses going to the parks will stop at Kidani first, then Jambo house. And busses going to DTD will stop at Jambo house first, then Kidani.
