We are going in august with our 7 and 9 YO niece and nephew, we have never stayed at the AKV. Which pool area is better for this age group?

Heard jambos is a larger pool with more to do, but smaller slide. Kidani much more laid back smaller, but larger water slide. I can't wait 1 month Jambo here we come...

Our DGC, 8,9 and 10 enjoy Kidani's pool more.

They are VERY happy with the Community room at Kidani as well.

Thanks Guys. Have used all my points on my original contract: Waiting for my BWV contract points to go into my account. I really shouldn't have looked last night but they had a 2 bedroom in kidani on our dates. Hope it holds out till my points make it in my account. Fingers crossed.

Kidani also has a much better kids play/splash area.

I also have never been to a Disney pool with more bees than Kidani (August visit).

They do have a bee issue. If you sit still for more than 3 minutes you're guaranteed to get a little winged visitor. I believe they're drawn in by both the self serve soda fountain as well as the fact that the resort is mostly dry land and they're drawn to the water. Note, they do get on my nerves, but seemed to be polite bees, if there is such a thing LOL. I did not see anyone being stung.

True, no stinging. By my 5yo daughter wasn't thrilled with them regardless and it was kind of ruining our day.

We ended up at Jambo for a very long evening swim and dinner and didn't notice any bees at all. There is less vegetation at Jambo. Or to put it another way, the Kidani is much smaller and has vegetation everywhere. I guess the bees were too far away from us at Jambo to even be noticed.

We didn't notice bees by the Kidani pool during our stays. Maybe it's seasonal?
I don't mind bees at all...but I'm not allergic, if I were, I imagine it would be a fairly large issue.
Without bees the world would be a much different place! When there's one buzzing around my daughter, I tell her to let the bee sniff her. Once he sees that she's not a flower, he'll move on.

We were at Kidani last August. Never saw any bees. We were mostly at the kiddie play/splash area.

We didn't see bees near the kiddie area; they were all over on the far side of the pool, near the ping pong, and up by the restaurant/bar.

This is why I love these theads! Had no idea bees could potentially be an issue at Kidani! Maybe its a seasonal thing! Heading there in June, and to be safe, I'll be sure to pack my bug spray! :)

Both pools are awesome, but we prefer Kidani especially for the play area. Just for the record...never experienced a bee problem there.

This could be the reason why there are so many bees there..My guess is, by the rest./bar they sell those fruity drinks &/or have soft drinks there...These have a ton of sugar which will obviously be spilled & attract those Black n Yellow Beauties....*( No not my Pitssburgh Steelers either..LoL ):rotfl2:

Yes, you are correct! I had totally forgotten that we encountered the bees on our Jersey Week trip in November, but now that it's mentioned,we also experienced them and exactly where you described.

It did not damper our time, but if you are someone who likes to lay out all day, it would annoy you.
