When looking at the artwork put out by DVC, it appears that the pool area will be across the parking lot from the villas. I've seen that standard view rooms will have either a parking lot or pool view. Does the pool view mean across the parking lot to the pool? Does this mean that anyone who wants to use the pool/play area will have to walk across the parking lot?

The picture can't be accurate, can it? Does anyone know what the layout in regards to pool placement is?

No I am also looking for details. I thought it was going to be like SAB...anyone know?

try this view out

There is no parking lot where the pool will be. Those with a "parking lot view" will be rooms in the south wing (the pool will be outside the north wing) which will be able to see an existing employee lot. They are not building any new parking lots but there will be some parking under the building although that also looks like it is going to be under the south wing.

I assume you are referring to this drawing that DVC released when they first announced AKV. It shows a parking area in between the pool and the building with walkways to the pool area on each side. It really looks out of place. Even with lots of trees to screen it off from the pool area, you will still have to walk past it going to and from the pool which isn't very magical.

There are parts of this drawing that are inaccurate and I'm hoping that parking area is one of them! For example, the three full building segments closest to Jambo House are only one villa deep (savanna view only) which is great because otherwise any Standard View rooms in those segments would be looking straight at the AKL employee parking lot! The first segment with standard view villas is the 4th full segment and due to the curvature of the building it faces the front area of Kidani which should be much prettier than the employee lot.

On the other hand, one area that looks much nicer in the drawing than in person is the area of grass and trees in between Kidani and Jambo at the bottom of the drawing. In fact that is the service area where deliveries are made and garbage is collected. It is all blacktop and cement and full of garbage and recycling bins and several huge air conditioning units. Fortunately it's partially hidden behind a large red block wall.

I'm hoping that that parking area next to the pool can be added to the list of things that have been eliminated during construction!
