We haven't stayed at AKV in a few years and never at Kidani. I have noticed Disney transportation seems to be slipping lately (we go a few times a year) I actually don't mind the buses but I value my time more. Next month we have an all adult trip, 6 of us. Right now. we have 1 night at OKW, 3 at AKV and 2 at Copper Creek. Hopefully, I can get that split to 3 nights at AKV and 3 at CC. I have a mini van reserved at a decent price. What would you do?

I like having a car. Especially at OKW, SSR, and AKV. But we also usually get a 1 or 2 bedroom and run out to Walmart for groceries.

We’ve often come in and go out on the ME, but I will pick up and return a rental from the Swan/Dolphin or one of the hotels on Disney Plaza.

You value your time more, go with the rental. We like having a car too, but will use the buses at times. We hate ME getting to WDW.

If you have previously stayed at Kidani and have had a room near the end of the north wing (which can occur even if you made a different location request), you will understand what I mean when I say that you may want to have a car just so you can get to the Kidani store or front desk in the lobby area.

Yes! Kidani is a great place to stay with a car. Parking is under the building, with multiple elevators spread throughout. It makes the long hallways a bit more bearable! I really didn't mind the busses from Kidani - you are the last on, first off, and it seemed like they ran frequently.

Also, OKW is great for cars, and CC not too shabby (parking in front of main building).

Yup. Go with the car rental.
I agree, parking the car under the room at Kidani can really save you.
It can also be a blessing when swapping rooms so that you can keep your luggage with you instead of shoving it off through the system to show up at your next resort whenever it feels like. After they broke my luggage last time I decided I'll change resorts using an Uber or Lyft from now on, but a rental is even better (keep it all in the car until the room is ready).

i could see with all the resort stays that the car would be helpful. As for taking it to the parks would anyone in the party have an AP so that you don't have to pay for parking at the parks? We have stayed at AK (both sides) and never really encountered a problem with the transportation. Having the bus arrival times on the app definitely helped with planning our walk to the bus stops. I think the only issues has been at the parks after fireworks having to wait for a 2nd bus to arrive.

If the cost is good on the rental give it a try this visit.

We only ever stay at AKV and OKW, and we always have a car. I've used buses at both resorts but I prefer the convenience of having our own car.

Now that we drive down, it's really a forced decision anyway haha
