Kidani Add On Question

I just added on 50 points to my membership at my home resort of AKV. My guide told me that since all the contracts have been sold add Jambo House, I had to add on the 50 points at Kidani, She told me that it doesn't affect where I can use the points (Jambo or Kidiani) but since Kidani will not open until May 2009, those 50 add on points are not "live" until then. So I am getting 50 points to use from UY 2008 in May 2009 and then in June 2009(my use year) I will get my additional 50 points along with my 160 points.
My question is: do I have to bank those 50 points I just purchased that are not "live" yet? I am very confused right now. Thanks

I guess my question was just answered by MS. They told me I can not bank my add-on points until June 1st and I have until January 31st 2009, to do that.

I'm getting confused. If I read this correctly, you have 2008 points that you can't use until late May 2009 that you just banked until 2010. Is that right?

No, they need to bank their June 2008 points to June 2009 since they are not live until May 2009. I was told the same thing.

Any idea if you can use them in another location or they just simply cannot be used until May 2009? We recently just purchased so we are trying to figure that out.

They can't be used prior to the occupancy date of your unit.

I too think it depends on the occupancy date of your unit. We bought AKV in April 2007 and I recently inquired about adding on points. I was told we would get our March UY and could use them immediately. Now, if you just bought into AKV recently (after all the Jambo units had sold out) then your unit isn't open for occupancy yet (they are still building it) and your add-on points would also be restricted to use in May 2009 or when they expect the first units to open.

It has to do with UY. If there are currently points available in your UY you will get "live inventory" which means you do NOT have to wait until Kidani opens. We just added on 50 points with our October UY and we received live inventory since there were some October points left. I was able to book a trip for April of 09, or earlier if I choose to.

Hmm, so on June 1, 2008 even though my bldg isn't ready, I can book? Doesn't sound right. I am pretty sure they told me I cannot use them til May 2009 which is why they suggested we bank them. But if I can use them for another resort this year, I might be inclined to do that.

You have to check the occupancy date on your contract. You can't make a reservation with a checkin date prior to your occupancy date.

Apparently DeeCee735 was able to get points associated with a unit in the Jambo House.

I just confirmed with Member Services, and I cannot use those points til the bldg opens.

It has everything to do with occupancy date. We just added on with a June UY. We saw the need for more points in the future and went with the $8 off deal. There were no June UY points left at Jambo, so I have what they call AKV2 points which are Kidani points. My 2008 points will have to be banked into 2009. I can't use my new 50 until my unit's occupancy date has passed. I can book a vacation using those points as long as it is after that date.

I'm sorry for not being more specific, I will try to clarify my specific situation. My guide told me that because I'm already a member and because my October UY still had available AKV points for me to add on with(I guess that means Jambo?), I was able to get "live inventory" which did allow me to book a trip (I already have the confirmation number) immediately. The trip is for early April 09, which I think is before the building is due to be completed? So I'm led to believe that it has to due with it being an add on - not a new purchase - and it has to do with points still being available for your specific UY?

perfectly clear. Available inventory at AKV would be JAmbo points. So you were lucky that they were available in your UY. There weren't any for my UY.
