Hi All,
Our waitlist came through for a 2 bedroom standard view at Kidani. We have never stayed here and I have wanted to for years, so I am excited as is my family. Now that we just bought DVC we wanted to try it as part of a split stay this coming fall. I know it is only a standard view but are there any better sections/floors/rooms that we should be putting in requests to member services for our stay? It is 4 adults so no children to worry about trying to get around with this trip. We love Boma and are looking forward to not having to travel to get to it for breakfast. Any other suggestions/knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

TIA!

The standards on the south wing of Kidani (the wing closest to Jambo and the wing that has the bus station), all overlook road or parking lot, the back of the bus station, or front entrance area of the building. The majority of the standards on the north wing overlook the front entrance area or the pool area (although lower floors see mainly a hill leading to the pool area). There are also some standards on the north wing that were converted from savanna view and have Pembe savanna view, the one without giraffes.

If you want to try for a standard view room with Pembe savanna view, put in a request through MS (do not use at all the online request pages that come with online check-in) for a room close to the Pumba elevator (the last elevator on the north wing). Be aware, however, that if you get that request, your room will be a long way from the lobby and bus station and about .8 miles from Jambo front entrance. There is a shuttle that runs all day and evening from Kidani front entrance to Jambo front entrance, a distance of just under .5 miles, if you want to avoid much of the walk to Boma; longest wait for the shuttle is usually no more than 15 minutes.

For any other standards, you should request high floor to get any kind of view. If you want to be close to the pool request room near the Rafiki elevator. Down that elevator to ground floor and a path leading to an entry gate provides shortest possible walk from building to pool. That would also put you within striking distance of the lobby and bus station. If you want to be near bus station on the south wing, request a room near the Timon elevator, which will also put you fairly near the lobby and within striking distance of the pool.

Thank you so much for all of this information. I thought I had read somewhere that there was converted Savannah view rooms. It would be nice to get one of those knowing full well that it is a long walk back to Jambo. We have always loved the feel of AKL and WL especially during the holidays when we will be there. The decor is so beautiful, the savannah is just an added plus even if we go to a viewing area. The pleasure of going as adults is pacing ourselves to whatever the day may bring vs running like crazy. Thanks again, truly appreciate the insight.
