Kidana Savannah View Requests? Help please.

Hi!
We are brand new members who just closed last Friday. Yesterday I couldn't wait any longer and called MS and we were already in the system!!
I quickly booked ressies at Kidani for November and got our first choice of a savannah view one bedroom!! However, I'm now kicking myself for not making a special request about location/view. All of you Kidani experts out there, what would you suggest for a family of 4 with DS7 & DD3(who btw loves zebras and giraffes)? Thanks so much for all your input and advice.

No matter where you are at you'll have animals in front of your room. The savanna at Kidani is small. A more important consideration is how far away from the lobby you are because the pool is close to the lobby.

Don't forget, you can request location but you might not get it.

Two things to consider for view:

1. By the time you go there will be two savannas for Kidani, Sunset and Pembe. Sunset is huge and vast majority of savanna view rooms face it, Pembe will be smaller one to N/NW of the resort. Not clear but Pembe may not have giraffes; it will have okapi which may not be in other savannas. Thus, if you want giraffes, to be safe request Sunset savanna view.

2. Floors are 2 through 5. Higher floors (4 or 5) you are looking down onto savanna and animals and have more panoramic view. Lower floors you see somewhat less of the total savanna but have more direct sight line to animals, particularly giraffes. Some prefer the higher view, some the lower view and you can request (no guarantee) floor or request having fourth or fifth floor, or instead second or third.

Thank you so much for your input. We will certainly consider the proximity to the lobby and which savannah/floor as well. It really sounds like there are no bad views, just different experiences available. I guess we will just have to try them all.

We just returned from a week, and we requested a close proximity to the lobby and were very glad that we did. If you look at a map of Kidani, you could end up at the end of the semicircle closest to Jambo house and have a long walk to the lobby and the pool. We had a fifth floor room and would have preferred to be on a lower floor. The animals we saw were great. There are four giraffes( one baby), zebras, wildebeast, ostrichs, waterbuck, and others. The only downside is no counter service place to get food. the pool bar had a limited selection of sandwiches and salad, but nothing hot.

Thanks for the info--I think we will have to stock our kitchen accordingly. Could you elaborate on why you would prefer a lower floor??
