Or you could check out the menus in advance and choose a restaurant that offers something that your kids like. The problem with asking for kids sized entrees is that there is no way to know in advance if your request will be granted, so you are rolling the dice.
We always gave our DGD the option to order anything she wanted, and continue to do so with our Princesses when we take them out to dinner. The truth is that none of them usually chose off of the adult menu, but we were always prepared to pay full cost if they did.
SO, back to your question. The only time we were offered this concession, which we do not ask for BTW< was when we were at Rose & Crown for dinner, My DGD had food alllergies and the Chef came to the table to assist. She told my DD there was nothing on the children's menu that was safe for Kady, and before we had the chance to just order her an adult meal that she was able to have, the Chef showed DGD what she coudl safely eat and offered to make her any of the choices.
