My kids are running in the PHM weekend races and I'm wondering about the timing/organization/etc of this weekend's events. What time did kids actually start and how long did it take people to get out of there? If you had kids running in the dashes (not the mile), what time would you have wanted for post-race ADRs or FP+?

I wouldn't have wanted any firm plans after the kid races. They are alllllll the way in back of the complex. Annoying enough for adults to make their way back there, let alone trying to hurry children along. It takes a good amount of time to get there and to get back out to car or bus.

My daughter ran the mile which started at 12:30. We are staying at the Beach Club and were in Epcot by 1:45. I know you didn't actually want to know about the mile, but it was the last kids race of the day

Can I ask what time this weekends kids races started? PHM kids races are at 8:45. I am hoping yours started later if the mile didn't start until 12:30. Maybe I'm overly optimistic;) I have 200 and 400 dash kids. I assume 400 is right before the mile. We have lunch reservations, I am wondering if I need to push them back - if I can:confused3

My niece has run in the dashes over the last two years. They were in downtown disney last year around 12:00. This was after returning to their hotel first to shower, etc. My brother and sil ran the 5k, so it took awhile for everyone to get ready.

Great! Thanks for this info, I had suddenly realized the rD site would list the start time for this weekend. It was later, so that helped, but your post totall reassures me:). Thanks!

So do you think it is possible to make an 11:25 Chef Mickey's ADR? We won't be going back to shower and will have our own transportation.

I have no idea. I just was posting what I knew from last year. Until you know what the exact times are, there is no way to know. I know that my mom said that they were running a little behind. I am hoping to be in AK after my boys are done before 12:00 with a return to the hotel and be able to eat prior to that, but until the times are set, I won't know I that is possible.

Sorry that I can't help.

We have an 11am-noon FP+ for Test Track and a 12:40pm lunch ADR at San Angel the day of our PHM kids' run, and I think we'll be OK. But an 11:25am ADR at Chef Mickey's might be close - even with your own transportation. I agree with jen, it's just too difficult to know before they release the exact times. Even the general times/location for this weekend and PHM are so different:

This weekend:
Thursday, January 9 – Saturday, January 11, 2014
Kids Dashes: 11:00 a.m.
Mickey Mile: 12:30 p.m.
Location: ESPN Wide World of Sports Track & Field Complex

PHM:
Friday, February 21 – Saturday, February 22, 2014
8:45 a.m.
Location: Epcot

So I'm just hoping they run more smoothly than the DL Kids' Races last August, and that we'll get to Test Track before our FP+ expires at noon.

Based on the report of this weekend in an earlier post, I'm optimistic. If this weekends dashes started at 11 and the mile at 12:30, and the poster was in Epcot by 1:45 after completing the mile, that's 2:45 from start of first race, through all races, into Epcot. So from PHM 8:45 start that's 11:30. I need to be in HS by noon, but we are not in the mile, just the races before. So I'm hopeful we'll be out by 11. Fast passes don't start til 2, so I know they'll be okay. Lunch may be close, but worse comes to worst I'll send my mom ahead to check-In. Goodness knows they are never ready right away:)
