Does anyone know if the FS restaraunts will offer items not on the menu for kids? We are eating at Mexico, and there is only one item on the kids' menu, which I doubt my kids will eat. Are there alternatives other than taking them somewhere else?

Occasionally they may make something off menu. That is not usually the case. What is on the childrens menu is usually it.

Are you talking about San Angel Inn? I saw three kids meals on that menu. I've never eaten there, but a lot of chefs at Disney are very accomodating. We ate at Spoodles a couple of weeks ago and they made grilled cheese sandwiches (which were not on the menu) for two of my kids.

We had a wonderful experience at both Ca. Grill and Plaza restaurant making DS (4) something not on the menu. At both places he asked for a fruit plate instead of the appetizers listed, and both places were more than happy to do it and didn't bat an eye. The fruit plate he got at the Plaza was huge and enough for a meal. :woohoo: We learned that if you want something that isn't on the menu- just ask. They can usually come up with something
