Kid does not like dessert....

We are on the basic plan, going in March. Does anyone have any experience with TS restaurants when a child doesn't want dessert?

My DS is an exception to the kid rule - he doesn't like cake, ice cream or any other type of dessert.

Would the server substitute something in place - say a special drink or bottle of water?

Fruit or applsauce are usually an option on the kids meals. I would not count on an upgrade (like a special drink). A small bottle of water is alway an option on the kids beverage menu. You can ask he can have another when dessert is served.

My DD doesn't do dessert either ~ but like PP said it is often applesauce which we would through in our bag for a morning snack.

She also loved at the Table Service the icecream make your own sundae. She never ate much of it but enjoyed putting it together!

When we eat at TS restaurants, my children always order a fruit salad or just a scoop of vanilla ice cream (which is a version of the ice cream sundae without any toppings etc), we've never had a problem with that. Sometimes, they don't want ice cream so they just order carrot/celery. We've found that the waitstaff have been accomodating in that way. I don't know if they are allowed to order a special drink (we've never tried it). But it doesn't hurt to ask.

Sometimes, they just pass on the dessert and that's never a problem.

They usually have a good selection of fruit...
Many of the TS restaurants offered strawberries...

My kids almost always took the fruit option. It was usually a mixed fruit salad or apple slices with caramel.

They will not trade a dessert for a special drink. I haven't been able to even get veggies in place of the desset........just fruit or applesauce.......my daughter would have been thrilled with carrots, wish we could have done that! They told us that the carrots are considered an appetizer, and apps can not be substituted in place of desserts...........go figure.......
