We are thinking of buying either a Kia Sedona or A Chrysler Grand Voyager, my question about the sedona is the can one of the middle row of seats be removed, the reason DS 15yrs is 6'6" and when I have him a DH (6'4") in the car one obviously has to sit in the back, DH does not drive, this obviously poses a leg room problem, I know that some Grand Voyagers have a stow n go system where the middle row of seats go into the floor, we could do that with one and DS could sit in the third row with plenty of room for his ever growing legs and wondered if anything like this was possible with the sedona. We like the look of both vehicles and our final choice of car will have a lot to do with the amount of leg room available. thanks

I'm sorry, I'm not answering your specific question about seat removal (although I would have thought given a socket set, any seat would be removable from any car), but just wanted to advise you that the Sedona model from a few years back (which may or may not be still the current model) did incredibly badly on the Euro crash tests for frontal impact. Might be worth considering, especialy if you are considering a used one.

I had one of them myself about 3 years ago as a rental car for 3 weeks, and I really liked how it drove and suited our needs....but was disturbed to see its safety rating afterwards.

Hi
we have an 06 plate sedona, we bought it new ours has the old seating configuration, 2 2 and 3 in the back, and you can walk through from the front to the back, and its wonderful, all the chairs flip over or can be completly taken out.
The newer models have changed it and its 3 3 2 like most other 7 seaters, and i dont like it as much, i find ours more comfortable, ii do believe you can still pick up new pre registered 06 cars that have the 3 2 3 seating, they are so much better that the new design i dont know why they changed it.

We also like the chyrstler but it was much more money, they have dodge now dont they which is the same (us make)
just much cheaper!!

We have the stow and go chrysler grand voyager and love it to bits.
It can take us, our son and his entire band with their equipment( and that's the worst thing about it) LOL

It is very versatile as all the seat will fold flat into the floor in a minute so it is no problem if you have to change between storage and passengers frequently.

It is a wide car so you will need to be a confident driver in an british car park.

Best of luck with your purchase.

Thanks for your replies, will have to look at the safety records carefully. We had a quick look at a Sedona 2nite at a local garage (it had 2,2,3 combination - on most occasions we would only need 4 possibly 5 of the seats) and it looked really roomy we also looked at a Grand Voyager but it did not have the stow and go system, it had a 2,3,2 combination not so keen on this style if we get a chrysler then it would have to have the stow and go system, we are in no rush to buy so will have to keep looking around for the best vehicle for us.

Stow and go has only been out for about 2 and a half years so you would be looking at quiet a new one. they are 2 2 3 if that helps. :goodvibes
