Keys to the Kingdom

I'm traveling solo to WDW in October and am considering doing the Keys to the Kingdom program on one of the days. I was just curious about other folks' experiences and if it is worth the time and cost. Thanks.

My husband and I did it, and we recommend it to anyone! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, and could answer any questions we had. Some of the tid bits we learned were truly fascinating and changed our view of the park to appreciate it even more.

My husband and I did it back in October, and we both really loved it. It's a lot of standing and walking, keep that in mind. Our tour included stops at the Tiki Room and Haunted Mansion, not sure if that has been changed up or not.

I was also solo and loved it! Well worth the money!! Early Sept 2018 we did Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion as the rides, got to go to the Boo to You Parade float area (only negative is the Vanellope float spits out a sweet smell that is NAUSEATING even when it's sitting still). Lunch was at Pecos Bill in an area specially roped off for us.

My wife an I did it November 2017. It was awesome. We learned so much and also were really lucky with the areas we visited. First day of "Jingle Cruise" and the Christmas floats were being prepared for the parade next day (next day was first Very Merry Christmas Party of the year). We will definitely do it again some day.

My sister and I did it a few years back and we also loved it. We had lunch at Columbia Harbor House (do they no longer go there?). I knew a lot of the trivia that was given out but there were other tidbits that were new to me. I would like to do a longer tour.

We’ve been on this tour twice and wouldn’t hesitate to do it again.

My husband and I did it in October.

We had Kelvin (Yes that is how he spelled is name) as our guide.

It was awesome.

Leisurely paced walking tour with the history of the Disney World setup.

I never realized the significance of all the names on main street.

The behind the scenes events that occurred.

The running of some of the rides from a closer analysis (Loved the behind the scenes at the HM)

And of course the tunnels. The memorabilia down their.

Planning on doing it again this fall.

During my solo trip I did this tour as well as Segway tour, Marceline to magic and backstage at animal kingdom(no longer have this one but any at AK would be great!). Highly recommend all! Enjoy!

After 26 years of visiting WDW and the last 11 yrs as Florida resident AP holders, DH and I have booked the Keys to the Kingdom tour for May 1st. So happy to hear all the good reviews.

Excellent tour. I have taken it several times. always good. All the tours at WDW are good. Don;t forget the discounts...AP, DVC and Disney Visa, all 15%.

Totally worth it. DH and I did it in February and loved it. Lunch was at Pecos Bills which was surprisingly good - I'll put it on our list of places to eat in future - in a roped off private section. We learned so much. We got to see them testing out Maleficent's head and wing movement behind the scenes and then watched some dancers practicing for a parade. We rode Jungle Cruise (without the jokes - just a description of the inspiration and design), Tiki Room and Haunted Mansion.

As others have said, it's a great tour and well worth it.
I would add that you try to book it before park opening. We did that and had 45 minutes to roam the MK and take pictures with virtually no one else there. It was amazing. Of course, the areas off the hub were roped off, but we could take pictures all the way up to the castle.
If you have difficulty walking, it is a walking tour for appx 4 hours. They do take a couple of brief rest periods where you can sit, but it is mostly standing and walking.

I am considering this during a solo trip next February (if Disney Princess weekend isn't cancelled). Out of interest, how many people are in each tour?

Our tour in May 2019 had 16 total. My wife and I were seated with one solo and the tour guide for lunch. I would say this is an excellent tour, and would definitely be a great solo activity.
