Dh and I are nipping over to WDW for 5 days for the wine and dine weekend without the kids, we are thinking of doing the KTTK tour. How far in advance can we book, also is the first slot best. Anyone know where I can find some good reviews..? TIA

The tour starts booking at the 180 day window. We did it a couple years ago and went on the first tour of the morning so that we got into MK before opening and could take some pictures. It was a fantastic tour. Just make sure you wear comfortable shoes - you will be on your feet for most of the 5 hours.

Brill Thanks...will give it a day or 2 after the half marathon then!!

Do you have to book 180 days out or are you able to book closer to your vacation?

It all depends on availability for the day you are looking at. But it's not like getting an ADR for the V&A Chefs Table. You should be able to find spots even booking within the 180 days.

Ok good because DH and I want to do KTTK in Sept. but I hadn't been planning on booking it this early. I figured we'd do it like a month or so out.

Last year, I asked for the KTTK tour at the front desk during my stay and I could not book, it was loaded. I was informed at time that we can book within a 60 days window.

I called on Feb 24th and was able to get a tour on March 24th. Most of the times were taken and I was only able to get the 8 am tour, which was fine with us. :)

If you have a Disney Visa you can get 20% off on the price of the tour.

I would call Disney now and find out how far in advance you can book it. Remember, you can always cancel (and get a refund) if you change your mind; just ask what their cancellation policy is. The sooner the better.

I booked the Backstage Magic tour months in advance (can't remember exactly how far in advance, but at least three or four months before our trip). The CM who took my reservation said I was smart to book so far ahead of time, because the tour books up very quickly (it's only offered one day a week).

I think you'll really like the KTTK tour; I loved it!! Hopefully you'll get a great tour guide. Our guide, Matthew, was fabulous!

Brill thanks for all the info, I will book at the 180 day window. I have an annual pass so thunk I get 20% off .

I booked about a fortnight ago and got in for April Fools day! I can't wait!

Only 11 days until i am in The World!!!!

Im an Aussie WDW virgin! Yippeeeeeeee

Looks like I'll be booking at the 180 window just to guarantee it. We have been wanting to do it for a while now. I wanted to hold off mainly because I was worried about it raining. Has anyone had the tour in the rain? Do they alter it or postpone it?

I just took this tour in February for my birthday. I booked it around 30 days out for a Thursday at 9:30. The only reason I didn't pick the first tour of the morning is that we were driving in that day and didn't know about traffic. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. It was wonderful and I plan on doing it again with another friend who hasn't been on it yet. Well worth the money IMO. Definitely wear comfortable shoes. Have fun!

No matter which slot you reserve, you can enter early to get those awesome shots of the park w/o guests everywhere. I had the 9:30, told the CM on the phone when I booked that I had hoped to get some photos. She told me to show up at 8:30 and I'd be fine. I did and was waived right in past all the RD crowds. I got signed up real fast, got my Tour Group ID and off I went. It was kind of scary watching Main Street as the hordes came rushing in at 9:00am!!

That sounds like fun! We are hoping to get the 9:30 am time. I'm really looking forward to this.

We did this tour in Sept (and I just started the review in my trip report, see my signature if you'd like) and I would HIGHLY reccommend it, especially for the Disney fact nerd, lol! I knew some of the information given, but a lot was new, and it was a great time.

We booked the earliest slot so we could have some park time after, and get some empty MK photos the morning of.a

Brill thanks everyone for all the replies .... Great ap gets a discount too. Thanks for all the links off to read some reports now!

I did the tour almost Three years ago and I was last-minute, but I do suggest what you are doing and booking as far out as possible. Great great great tour...can't say enough about it. I thought I would be wiped after 5 hours of walking but it seemed like in a blink it was over. There were a lot of tips and secrets, rode a couple of rides, lunch, little gifts, and a wealth of new-found love and respect for MK. I think you two will absolutely love it!
