Has anyone done the Keys to the Kingdom tour? DH & I are planning to do that in August. I'd love to hear your comments. Thanks!

I did one last Dec. It was actually very interesting. I've been to WDW many times and I thought I might not learn anything new, but there was stuff I hadn't realized before. Our guide, Jarod, was terrific. He had lots of tidbits of info, and was very good about potty breaks as well as finding spots where we could sit for a bit, and rest. I really enjoyed our tour. There were actually other DISers on it also!!!

I took the tour in Spetember and loved it, it inspried me to sign up for the Backstage Magic tour for my up coming trip.:thumbsup2

Did the KTTK Tour back in Oct '05. It was a blast. I loved walking up Main Street and learning the history of WDW and the meaning behind the names on the windows. We had Rae as our guide. She was a blast. I would do this again.

Doing the Backstage Magic Tour on Thursday. Can't wait.

If you have AAA, Disney Visa, Annual Pass or are a DVC Member, ask about a discount. Disney Visa was a 20% discount on BSM.

We just did this tour in March. We enjoyed it very much. It's nice because it's just 1/2 a day. Brick was our tour guide. We enjoyed him very much. Just FYI- the utilidor part of the tour is near the very end. Some people expect to "go under" right away. Have fun!

We did the Keys Tour in December 2006....it was awesome!!! We explored Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise and many other rides. I would highly recommend it if you had never been on it. We had a rainy day, so we were limited to staying more indoors, but I'm sure if it was a better day we would have walked more outside.princess:

how much is the tour and what is the hours? Has anyone taken the tour by themselves? I would love to take the tour.. but my husband would have to stay with our little one and that would leave me by myself.. my husband wont' ever take it.. he is afraid it will spoil the magic? Any thoughts on that??? I really want to take the tour.

haha.. no, the tour with the "Standing scooters" also known as segways is done at Epcot. It's a tour around the world showcase and more expensive than keys to the kingdom.

This tour takes place at magic kingdom.

Is a nice tour... had a great guide ourselves. I took my mom and had her in a wheelchair. Worked out well. Just know in August, its very hot. I think that they provided us water on the way... I think... I dont feel that it took away any of the "magic" that I have heard others say for why they havent or wont do the tour.

Thank you all for your responses. My husband & I are going without kids this time, so we plan to do some things that we wouldn't ordinarily get to do. This tour sounds like fun & I haven't heard anything negative about it....we will definitely give it a try! :)

We did the Keys to the Kingdom tour in Feb of 2006 and we truelly enjoyed it. We did learn some things however since I am a DIsser I knew some of the facts. It was great, our guide was nice and lunch was great. While we were at lunch we were given a keepstake of our tour. I would highly recommend it.

My husband and I went on this last September and we Both loved it. They had water bottles (free) for you to grab a the beginning of the tour and you stop for lunch and everything. We both loved the free gift and the tour was very informational and interesting. No :wizard: was spoiled either!!

I took the tour alone! DH was in a conference all day. It was great, I had a lot of fun. It wasn't a big deal not being with a group since there were so many different parties there. At lunch they assign you to a spot at the table so there is no awkward "who do I sit with" problem. Definitely do it!

FWIW as far as your DH is concerned, I actually felt the tour ENHANCED the magic rather than detracting. Once I heard about how much goes into every detail, from the planting, to the way they do maintenance, to the incredible effort and detail that goes into ride theming, I felt even more awed the next time I walked into MK. It just became all the more impressive. Have fun!

We did this tour a few years ago, and I'd love to do it again.

Please note that the Haunted Mansion will be closed for refurbishment in August. I don't know if they're going to take you to a different attraction, or maybe just extend the tour some other way.

DH and I did the KTTKT in May, 2005 and we really loved it. It's nice to find out the backstory on something you really love!

:yay: :woohoo:

I was on the tour 2 years ago and loved it. The tour guide was great.

We took the tour 2 days ago. After being to disney 6 times now i wasn't sure how much new knowledge i'd come away with but in the end it was probably the most interesting thing i've done at Disney...I highly recommend it!
