my husband and I are looking at this tour.
I don't want to know to much.. Don't want to spoiled the adventure.

Im a HUGE disney fan.. I have tons of books, movie ect ect. On the history of Disney.
Is this tour something I'm going to enjoy? Or just a repeat of things I already know?

We did it in July 2013...it was WONDERFUL! I had been waiting for the chance to do it as you have to be 16. I am a bit of Disney junkie and some of the information I knew and a lot I didnt. It is fun to go back now and remember the tidbits we learned while walking through the park. I would HIGHLY recommend it! :thumbsup2

It's your chance to go into the Utilidors - a small segment of it - but it's the only way to see the happenings down there.

We were in the Utilidors when Mr. Incredible strolled by, minus his head, and Daisy waddled by looking life a half human/half ducktail creature. We thought it was cool.

We had a great Guide and saw MiSiCi rehearsing backstage, saw them in the Hub area, and then saw them after they came off their route and crossed the sight line. We thought these were all memorable experiences and made it well worth doing the tour.

Backstage Magic is an extended version of the Keys to the Kingdom tour....visit all 4 parks in one 7 hour day....still get to see the tunnels, etc. But it's quite a bit more expensive, $249.

It's one thing to read about the utilidors.

A whole 'nother thing to walk in them.

Yes. We have done it twice. It was wonderful both times. There are some parts of it that are scripted, but the rest of it depends on your Tour Guide and how he/she sees Disney through his/eyes. Worth every penny!

What makes or breaks all WDW tours is the tour guide. I took KTTK in 2012, and had an amazing guide. His name was Robert, and he knew his stuff. He also related some of the history to his own life. I really enjoyed it. I took the Marceline to MK tour a year later, and the guide was less than impressive. I have taken most of the WDW tours. I've studied the resort for thirty years, and have a significant amount of knowledge. Yet, I have never felt that I knew everything, and always managed to learn something on these tours. The only issue I've had is when the guides have given incorrect historical information. This has happened on a few tours, and it irritates me. I'm not sure how or why guides are given liberty to embellish on the facts, especially when talking about Walt Disney. But at the end of the day, I'm not on these tours to look for their mistakes. I just notice them on just about every tour I take.

Absolutely worth doing, even if you already know lots of info, I definitely learned new things I didn't already know! We had a great time, really enjoyed it and look forward to doing it again in a visit or two down the road. I think next trip we'll do the Marceline to Magic tour that we ended up cancelling last Dec,(HM was closed for refurb, and you get to go backstage there on that tour!).

I mean, this may sound silly, but we both(myself and my DD22 at the time), ended up feeling a closer connection to Walt after this tour. We gained a new appreciation for who he was and all that he did to bring Disneyland to life, and then Walt Disney World. KTTK tour is definitely magical and shouldn't be missed!

DH and I did it during last years Valentine's Day stay, and I have to say it was amazing! We were lucky enough to also run across a few cast members back stage that wanted to have discussions with the group. I do agree it all is based around how entertaining and detailed your guide is. Being able to say we went into the Utilidors is pretty awesome too. Granted the Utilidor tour is a limited area, it is still a great opportunity to see how it all works together. For me this tour did not ruin any magic, it only made me more hyped.

It was an amazing tour. We went in 2013, the first year that we could go (DS just turned 16). It was very neat to go backstage and see everything we had read about. Very neat. Highly recommend it!

I did the tour a couple of years ago. Seeing the Utilidors was cool, but the rest of the tour was kinda of a letdown. I've read a lot of about disney and not much the tour guide had to say was anything new to me. Also like others have said, it really depends on your guide. The one I had wasn't very dynamic and downright dull at times. I was disappointed about the tour after all the good things i've read about it.

Have taken this tour twice. It, like all the other tours I have taken over the years, was excellent, well worth the time and money spent. Don't forget the discounts....AP, DVC, Disney Visa, and sometimes AAA...15%.

I did it back in 2008 and loved it. Also includes a nice lunch at Colombia House. When we got backstage Woody took over our tour for awhile and it was the greatest thing. Only prob since that part was back stage we couldn't take any pics with him.

I've been wanting to do this tour for awhile, but they were booked the last time we were there. Does anyone know how far in advance can you book this tour? Is it 180 days?

I am pretty sure it is 180+10.

My wife and I have done KttK, Backstage Safari at AK and The UnDIScovered Future World tours, and while we really enjoyed all three, we felt we learned and had seen the least on the KttK tour. Our tour guide, Mathew, was by far the best guide of the 3 tours and he made the tour very enjoyable, however we just didn't think there was nearly as much substance there as in the other 2 tours. Don't get me wrong, we really enjoyed KttK and thought it was worth every penny, we just liked the other 2 better (KttK was the second tour we did, the first being BS at AK).
