Keys to the Kingdom Tour solo

Hi all,

I'm going on a day trip with a friend to see the Flower & Garden festival, and then to do EMH at MK until 2AM. We're spending the night and leaving separately in the morning.

I'm thinking of doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour before I leave the next day, but I have a couple of concerns.

1. Would I feel awkward doing it solo? How big are the tour groups? I usually don't mind being solo in a crowd but if it's a small group I get a bit shy.

2. If you've done this tour, please tell me about it! It sounds like so much fun.

3. After staying in MK until 2AM the previous night, I might be really too tired for a long walking tour right? Do you think it might make more sense to do the tour on my first day before I meet my friend at Epcot in the afternoon? That's gonna be one REALLY long day, especially since I would be driving in from Miami.

I went on the Keys to to Kingdom tour back in 2008 solo and loved it. Shouldnt feel awkward there were other solo people on my trip and everyone else was so friendly. Groups are small 10 or maybe 15 per group. A lot of walking so timing up to u. Lunch included which is nice. Going back to WDW and going on a different tour this time.

I went on this tour solo in 2013 and it was one of the highlights of my trip. We had about 12-14, several of us solo. Lots of walking, but also plenty of sit down time, so it was not tiring. In fact, I was sad when we ended. I went on a few rides, then returned to my resort to rest up during the heat of the day, before going back to MK that evening.

What time you go is up to you. I went on the earliest tour as I'm an early riser, but I also like to take a break in the afternoon before returning for the evening.

I did it solo last May. I was the only solo person but it was not awkward. There is not much need for interaction, at lunch I was seated with a couple and our tour guide, so there was plenty to talk about.

We rode the haunted mansion and jungle cruise rides as part of the tour. Lots of walking. The last part was the utilidor tunnels and we had to stand the whole time in there, I was tired by that time. It was definitely a lot of of fun.

I went on the early tour also because it was summer and hot, after the tour I rode a few rides and left. I'm not sure what to advise about timing.

I'd go at the beginning of the time, but, I'm sure you know that it will use up a days admission ticket. The tour is an extra cost, but, requires that you pay park admission to do it. There are others that do not require the admission ticket, but last I checked Keys to the Kingdom Tour does. I'm sorry if you already know that, but, I'd hate for you to be caught off guard if you didn't know.

I did mine the day before, but that was a long time ago. 2003, I think... I'm sure that is different now. Hopefully someone that has done it recently can provide that information.

You will love it. We have done the tour twice and there was at least one solo tourist on each one. It is almost easier to do by yourself so that you only have to keep up with the guide and not worry about your traveling companions.

Thank you for the advice everyone. I will stick to my original plan of doing the tour on the second day before I head home.

I have an AP so I don't need to worry about park admission.
