Keys to the Kingdom tour question?

Hey, I've booked myself on the keys to the Kingdom Tour for my birthday in September. I know from reading some reviews that you usually get to go on the Jungle Cruise as part of that tour . Something I was really looking forward too as its always been one of my favourite MK attractions. However it's scheduled to be closed for a refurb the day of my tour( most of the week actually...) just wondering if any knows if they will replace it with another attraction, and if so any ideas what one?

That's a good question. I took the tour, but I think it was in 2007 or 2008. I remember we also rode haunted mansion and we may have ridden POC. I honestly forget. All I can tell you was its a really fun tour. You learn a lot of little tidbits. It's very well run and holds your attention for the duration.

I took the tour a couple of years ago, and enjoyed it a lot.

We rode the JC and HM. I have heard that some folks rode POTC, but we did not. I am sure if JC is closed you will ride something else that will be just as interesting. IME, they will not guarantee any actual attractions during any tour. When we took the Undiscovered future world tour in Epcot this year, we did not do several of the things that others reported doing. But we still enjoyed it a lot.

DD and I are doing KTTK in Nov., when she will finally be 16. I'm sure it will be different than how it was when I took it before, but should be just as fun.

Enjoy!

A good docent never, ever gives the same exact tour twice. :thumbsup2

We did Pirates of Carribean and Haunted Mansion, not Jungle Cruise. Jungle Cruise was open that day.

We did this tour last Sept and got to do Haunted Mansion (through the servants entrance!), POTC and Jungle Cruise. Suspect they will replace it with another ride but I guess it depends on the tourguides/what is open?!

This was a great tour, I booked it for my husband and wasn't sure I really wanted to do it (was worried it might ruin the magic) but it really doesn't, just gives you a greater appreciation for how clever everything is and how much effort goes into creating the atmohpere. Enjoy!

How long does the tour take and cost? Do you need park tickets to do the tour?

We did the tour a couple of years ago and loved it. It now costs $74 and lasts 5 hours. We did HM, People Mover and POTC. It then also included lunch at Columbia House. Really loved all the backstage areas and the little touches you really don't realize when you come into the park.

Enjoy!

You do need park tickets to do the tour.

How much walking is involved? Would it be accessible to do with an ECV?

We had a man on an ECV on our KTTK tour. There was one point where we went down one flight of stairs and the CM put him in a little tiny elevator. He was downstairs waiting for us when we got there. (I don't remember where it was exactly--but maybe where you go down into the utilidors:confused3).

off topic, but just FYI: when I did the Backstage Magic Tour, one of our tour guides was the one in a wheel chair. He'd just swing himself up into the bus and the driver would fold his wheelchair and put it on the bus for him. The only place he couldn't go is where you go downstairs, underneath the American pavillion in Epcot. We were divided into two groups there and he took the group out front to the fountain area to talk about the building, while the other guide took us downstairs underneath the stage area to see the animatronics up close and how the stage worked.

I just booked the tour for August, and I have to admit I was a little bummed about not having the jungle cruise portion. But after reading here, I seems like those who didn't tour jc didn't really miss out on anything.
My son absolutely loved it, so I can't wait.
I'll try to post a review afterward.

We just did this tour in January and it poured off and on the whole time we were on the tour but it was still fantastic. We did JC and HM on our tour but I've heard that they also do POTC sometimes so I bet that's what you'll do. I must say the rides were fun but it was the rest of the tour that I really enjoyed. My 17 yr old son did it with me and he loved it.

Is that $74 per person? I was thinking of doing this but I have little kids. Is it worth it to go with them?

We did HM and JC on our tour. I suspect if JC is closed, you will do POTC instead.

We did the tour last year - there were 3 people on ATVs in our group. We did the JC, but no other rides. Really enjoyed watching the park open from the flagpole on main street and watching one of the parades start from behind the sight line.

Have done tour before the three rides are JC, HM and PoTC. If all 3 are up and running you will get to ride all 3. If one of the rides is closed then they will not replace it with any other ride. These are the only 3 they use for this tour.
