Keys to the Kingdom tour ID?

Hi all,

If I remember correctly, I think my husband had to show his ID when he checked in for this tour. Has anyone does this tour with teens? If so, do you need an ID or birth certificate for each person in the group or just one person in the group?

Thanks!

Edit to change:

IDs for guests 16 and over.

A birth certificate is not needed at WDW.

It's been years, but we definitely had to prove that the kids were at least 16 for the Keys to the Kingdom tour and the Segway tour. Has that changed? Mine both had driver's licenses/permits, so those worked as proof of age.

Disney's info on the tour states, "Guests must be 16 years of age or older and have a valid photo I.D." They may not always check it, but I know for us they did.

Same here. Had to bring passport for 16 year old daughter who didn't have a license. They did check it for the tour.

There's 1 tour that is for 13 and up. No idea what, if any, ID would be expected other than parents confirmation of their age
As for us, we've done tours and never had to show our ID
Now, there is no doubt as to our ages and the fact that we are well past the minimum ages they also have no concern about us being who we say we are.

Maybe you look more honest than we do. ;) We have been on tours without age limits that have not asked for id. Keys to the Kingdom definitely asked my 16 and 18 year olds (at the time) for id. I think the Segway tour did, too, but my husband took them on that one, so I'm not positive.

I'd say the Segway tour has something to do with insurance since you are on equipment that could pose a hazard. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone didn't need an ID.
For Keys did they ID all of you or just the teens?
I didn't have an ID for myself at 16 (didn't care about getting my license) so I have no clue what we could have done had we needed it. DD didn't get hers till later either, though still earlier than me

They looked at the three of us and asked if we had id. We all showed it. My daughter did (and still does) look young for her age, so that may have had something to do with it. I don't know if they asked any of the other groups for id. I wasn't really paying attention. Luckily, my daughter had her permit already, and my son had his license. Since we were told at the time of booking that we'd need id, I probably would have gone to the DMV and gotten a non-driver's id for them if they needed it because I worry about the little things like that. (And then we wouldn't have needed it and my husband would say, "I told you so." :))

You have to be 16 to take the KTTK tour and they ask for ID. They also tell you this when you book and to be sure to bring your ID.

I took both my boys on this tour when they turned 16. Both were asked for their ID.

Backstage Magic is only 13 now. We had a 13 yo old on our tour. The asked how old he was, which is why I knew his age but never asked for ID that I noticed. They were sitting next to us on the wall. I guess maybe they don't ask for that one since it's 13 and up

Tours with access to certain areas are governed by OSHA regulations and that is the reason for the age requirement on Keys to the Kingdom. ID's are only checked on tours with this age requirement and yes you must present an id to tour.

Weird part? Backstage Magic goes the same places that Keys does. We even went in the machine shops where rides are repaired/painted.

In addition, we did the Lights tour, which was also 16 over only and they didn't need IDs either. That tour was all adults though, all well over 16. I assume they didn't need to see any IDs for that reason

We had to present our IDs for Keys to the Kingdom Tour and were both in our mid-late twenties at the time. If they don't have a driver's license or permit, I wonder if a school issued ID might be acceptable proof of age?
