Keys to the Kingdom Tour disappointment

(I posted this in another forum but I think it fits better here). So we really want to do this tour on our upcoming trip. Unfortunate for us there is a minimum age of 16. I asked the CM if the age was set because of all the walking involved and he said it was so as not to spoil the magic for kids. I can see this being the case with a small child but DD is 13 and really wants to go on this tour. She hasn't believed Disney characters were real since she was 7. In her case the parks are about cool rides and food. I think the age requirements should be 10 and up...especially since Disney charges adult prices for anyone 10 and up. I'm really disappointed. We have all pondered the inner workings of the park on previous trips and I figured this would be really educational. *sigh*

Sorry you are disappointed. My DD14 has a list of things she's going to do the minute she hits the property after her 16th birthday - starting with the Segway tour, which her older sister and I have taken, but she obviously hasn't been old enough for.

There are some things we are waiting for her to be able to do before any of us try them - the KTTK tour is a good example.

And - there are some things we have splurged on - like WaterMice and massages - because she WAS old enough for those. I know it is disappointing to have to wait - and I wish the 12 - 16 year olds had a tour option that wasn't too childish. Something to look forward to, I suppose!!!

The 16+ age limit is for insurance reasons. I can understand why it is that age.
