I imagine my questions have been asked in the past, but I was not lucky using the search option! I will be returning the WDW next April with my 13 year old daughter. We are both great fans and I am considering signing us up for one of the tours. I am especially interested in Keys to the Kingdom. However, from what I am reading, it looks like she will be too young to be allowed on this tour. The Family Magic Tour seems like it might be too young for her! Will Disney allow a mature 13 year old on the Keys tour or should I just forget it? Also, for those who have taken Family Magic, do you think a 13 year old would like it? Are there usually a lot of littler kids on the Family tour? Also, any suggestions on other WDW tours a 13 year old would like and be able to take? Thanks so much to all the experts!

I don't know anything about the other tours, but I believe KTTK requires any children to be 16 or older.

From what I understand, they're pretty strict on the age thing. I don't think they would ever make an exception. When I went on it, they said that the rationale for the 16 year old age requirement is that if you're old enough to work at Disney, you're old enough to see backstage.

ETA: You could try out the new "Mickey's Magical Milestones" tour. It's ten and up, so it might be a little more 13 year old-friendly than the "Family Magic" tour. Here's a description from All Ears Net :
"Mickey's Magical Milestones is a new two-hour tour in the Magic Kingdom. Tour-goers age 10 and up visit attractions and special locations that retrace Mickey Mouse's fabled career. The tour, which costs $25 per person, is held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m., starting at the Guided Tour Garden adjacent to City Hall (just inside the Magic Kingdom Main Entrance). There is a 15 percent discount available for DVC Members and Annual Passholders. Arrive at least 15 minutes before tour start time (theme park admission is NOT included in tour price). For more information and reservations call 407-WDW-TOUR (939-8687). And if you take this tour, please let us know what you think!"

There's even a review of the tour. It looks great!

Thanks so much! I will look into the Mickey's Magical Milestones Tour...that looks like it could be fun!
