Keys to Kingdom tour question

I'm not sure how this works ... can someone please help?

I scheduled an 8:30 a.m. Keys to the Kingdom tour. The Disney representative said to meet next to City Hall at 8:15.

The day I'm going on the tour is an early entry day for Disney resort guests so the park will be open at 8:00 a.m. for them, but I'm not staying at a Disney resort.

How do I get through the admissions gate without a Disney resort ID?

Just tell them you have a reservation for the KttK tour and they will let you in. They should have a list of enrolled participants at the gate, and may ask you for your name to confim.

Make sure you arrive extra early as you may get caught in the crush of people going through security and the turnstiles for EE.

My DH and I went on this tour mid-September and it was wonderful! Anyway, when we went, there was a separate line forming for the Cinderella breakfast. A CM was holding a sign and another one was periodically shouting out directions for those people who had Cinderella breakfast reservations to get in that line. We just found a nearby CM and told her we were going on the Keys to the Kingdom tour. She told us to get in the breakfast line. We were a little hesitant, because the CM giving the breakfast announcement said only those who have breakfast reservations should be in that line. As we got closer to the front of the line, I asked the CM who said only breakfast reservation holders should be there where we should go for the Keys tour (just to doublecheck). She said right here in this breakfast line. (Don't ask me why she didn't say only those with breakfast reservations AND tour reservations!). Anyway, shortly before reaching the turnstile, a CM with a clipboard asked us if we were there for the breakfast and we said, no, we're here for the KTTK tour. She said ok, and found our names on her clipboard list and crossed out our names. I don't think it's required that you get your name crossed off that list before getting in, I think she was just doing to help them keep track of who was there, if they happened to come across anyone for the tour. After letting us in, we just went to the left, to the tour garden area and there was a table with a few CMs waiting to check us in.

I wouldn't worry too much about not having a resort ID...if you just tell them you are there for the Keys to the Kingdom tour and have your confirmation number handy if they ask for proof (no one asked us for it, but we felt better having it in case there was a mix up). They give the tour all the time and are probably used to people needing to get inside the gates early for it. Tip: Please give yourself ample time to get there--allow more time than you think you'll need. We took the bus and we made it to MK by 8:12, but we forgot to account for waiting in line.

Thanks everyone.

I asked the reservation agent on the phone how I was supposed to get in and he didn't know. Then I started getting a little worried that maybe I shouldn't have booked an early tour if I wasn't staying on property.

That's odd that the CM who took your reservation didn't know how you are supposed to get in. If you want official verification, just try calling again so you can talk to a different CM. usually that will do the trick if your questions haven't been answered satisfactorily!

I am sure you are not the only one that books these tours that do not stay on property, so that gets me annoyed that CM's can't seem to help you. I'm sure once you show up at the MK, a CM there will know what to do .....no worries, I'm sure they will let you in.
