I'm considering a week in Key West round late September time, looking at staying at either the Southernmost, Ocean Key or Banana Bay resort - does anyone have any experience of the these hotels?

Also, any suggestions of things not to miss at Key West? :scratchin

Dave, it was many a year ago that I was there, pre-children.

I remember it being a real rocking place at night. Lots of bars and clubs with live bands.
Sorry, don't know about the hotels, we stayed in a little place, which was wonderful.

It's customary to make your way to Mallory Square in the evening to watch the sun go down. Loads of entertainers to watch.

I really liked Key West, it's a very laid back sort of place.
About the only things I can remember doing during the day were climbing to the top of the lighthouse (great view) and taking a tram tour.

It is a few years since we have been to Key West , it is very different to the rest of Florida, almost like the caribbean.

We stayed at the Southernmost, but booked our room independantly - to be honest we were not that impressed, however I do not think we were given one of the better rooms.

::yes:: ::yes:: Hmmmmm Key Lime Pie! I would recommend that also!
There's a little place down by the harbour where they do a deal on an iced coffee and a slice of pie - quite cheap if I remember correctly it was about $3.50 or something.

We were there in November when they had the powerboat racing there - it was excellent!
