my family did the conch train. It takes an hour or so, and it goes past lots of the famous landmarks of Key West, and you are able to see a lot. The driver will give you a running narrative of the different sites. I would recommend doing this.

We did the Trolly tour last week and would do it again. It stops at locations all along the island and you can get off and then back on. We got off at the Southern most point of the US and then walked back up Duvall St. to Mallory Sq. There is no way I would pay for a Disney tour in this town. There are several sites on the net where you can download walking tours and maps as well. We ordered our trolly tickets on the net and saved about $10 over what DCL wanted for the same thing.
Get you a cheeseburger at Margarittaville. It is great. Also you may want to try the Keylime Pie on a stick dipped at chocolate. It can be found at the Blonde Giraffe on Duval. Step into the Chicken Store on Duval. It is one of a kind.

Have a great day.

We walked on our own and had a good time...and guests riding on the tour train look silly. Key West is not really an excursion location. It's much more interesting to walk into the different shops and look around. It's quite eclectic and artsy.

Also, don't eat on the ship in the morning -- go into Key West for a nice lunch and an afternoon cocktail. It's the start of your vacation, so enjoy it!

The Trolley and/or Conch Train tour are very easy to do on your own, the ticket area is right in the center of town and doing it this way will save you some $'s. Get off the ship on your own and walk into town, you can then decide what you want to do. We had plans on doing the Conch Train this past July on our own, but when we got into town the heat and humidity was so bad that after walking around for about an hour we all opted to just go back to the ship and enjoy the pool. As much as we were looking forward to the tour, the heat was just too much and we were very glad we hadn't pre-paid for it.

We did the Palo brunch at 10:30-enjoying that great food as we docked. It gave us plenty of time to change and make our 2PM parasail with Fury Catamarans. The cost is $75 for a tandem flight. It was awesome. We returned to to ship, changed and then walked around town. I agree with everyone else- see the town on your own.

Where online did you purchase your trolley tix? Also, how much were they? I heard the tix were like $30.00 pp, pretty steep for just an hour.

Thanks

Do not tear the survey card from the ticket when you get it. It will be your reboarding pass. I tore mine off and left it in our cabing. They gave Miss Vivian and I a blue sticker to wear to reboard. The guy at the booth said it was a big dummy sticker.

All in fun.

Note: IT WAS HOT!!!!!!

Anyone out there done the back to nature kayaking at Key West or heard anything from anyone who has? I travel with a family of Scouts and that means I get to be one by default... ...ok, it can be fun. Anyway, this was the #1 choice on the excursion list but having a hard time finding much out.

Thanks!
Deb
