Can you please tell me the best place to watch the sunset.
Thanks,
MartyP

There are a few great places to watch the sunset. For the fun and carnival type atmosphere watching it from Mallory Square is very nice. It can be quite crowded there though. The sunset is BEAUTIFUL from the ship also. I understand that there is a way to get over to the little island just off of the port area that offers spectacular views of the sunset also.

You can't go wrong watching the sunset in Key West. You can almost hear is sizzle as it sets into the water!

On our first Western cruise, we had dinner at Palo and watched them sunset from a window seat...it was breathtaking!
The second time, we missed it, as we were watching the Catman and His Flying Housecats (but we didn't miss a lot, as it was a cloudy day).

Hi this is Shirley again on the Key West sunsets - one of the most breathtaking places to see the sunset is at the top of the Hotel La Concha which I believe is now the "Holiday Inn" on the corner of Duval and Flemming Street - you are 9 stories up with a 360 panarama view of the whole city of Key West - it is about 7 blocks from Mallory Square - also you can go to the Hilton which is right next to Mallory Square and it isn't quite as busy and you do not have the acts that are preformed at Mallory Square - I believe the sunsets are the most awesome sight in Key West - saw it for many many years and none of the conchs ever thought anything about it until the preformance of the sunset rituals began in the 80's.
Where ever you see it, don't miss it. If you listen real close you just may hear the water sizzling from the fire of the sun :D
With love always

Which side of the ship can you see it? I was thinking sitting on the veranda to watch it.

has anyone done the sunset cruise excursion offered by disney? we're considering it, but wonder if we'd do just at well elsewhere.

When we were there in October the sunset was on the port side of the ship. But if for any reason they docked facing the other way, then it would be on the starboard.

When I look at the Key West Port cams it looks like the MAGIC is docks with the starboard side close to the island, but that does not mean it always will. If your veranda is toward town, try deck 10!! or deck 4 !! LOVELY!

Hi MartyP. Usually the best place to watch the sunset is facing west...

Buckaroo's Dad -
Good morning Mr. Obvious! And how are you handling the sunsets in the great state of NY lately?

Rae

Which part of New York are you from BUCKEROO'S DAD? I am from upstate near Utica.

When docked in Key West.....the Port (left) side of the ship is best for watching the sunset as that side faces west. If you have a veranda on that side you are in luck!!!
