Has anyone spent the day at Key West at a beach with swimming and snorkeling? Any other suggestions for the day there? Myself, DS (14) and DD (6). Thanks for your help.

The beaches at Key West are not very nice. My family spent 10 days in the Keys in 1998 and could not find a single beach worth our time. The sand is rocky, and the amenities are few and far between. The water is great, and the snorkling was great, but we went to the snorkling spots by boat. If your family likes beaches I would recomend getting sand between your toes at any of the other Western ports of call. There are a lot of other things to do in Key West, and I'm sure you will have a great time there. But you may want to pass on the beach thing.
Hope this helps. Twinave

On our cruise in January we spent the day at the Sheraton Suites Hotel with a day room. WE got to use the beautiful pool, had a room to shower, get changed or relax.

There was a beach across the street from it, but I do not know the name. the resort was very nice. Since we did all the sightseeing on an earlier trip to Key West, it was nice to lounge by the pool. I booked the room using my Sheraton Points.
