I have been trying to use the search function but it never seems to work. So here is the questions:
Looking for the best key lime pie in Key West and also the address of the store that sells the hand-made sandals.

Thanks

Hey there!

I'm gonna need some help on this one because I don't do directions, but the best key lime pie in Key West is at the Blonde Giraffe Key Lime Pie factory. Delicious!! :cloud9: While you're there, branch out a little and have a piece frozen on a stick and dipped in chocolate. My daughter snarfed that right down!

I think the sandal place you're talking about is Keno's.

Now someone else has to chime in and tell you exactly where those places are. :)

We asked the locals there and they told us that Kermit's was the best. We went there and it was great! They have a lot of great key lime products. We also just saw them on the Food Network, I think, as the best place to get Key Lime pie. Their address is:
200A Elizabeth Street
Key West, FL 33040
Open Daily 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Located in Old Town
At the corner of
Elizabeth & Greene
Here is their website: www.keylimeshop.com
Hope this helps! :sunny:

kERMIT'S is also an excellent place to get Key Lime Pie as well as at the Roof Top Restaurant right there on Front Street, Blond Giraffe is another place for good Key Lime Pie (of course the best yet is mine :-) ----their address is 629 Duval Street and Keno's is just accross the street from Mallory Square on Fitzgerald Street - CAN'T MISS IT --and if you want souvieners, go right next door to Touch of Gold and tell Vinny or Gary I sent you and they will give you conch rates also Lovable Looks accross from Vinny's and tell Jay the same thing and he will give you conch rates. You can get it for what I buy it for.
Hope that helps
Always
Shirley
the ol' conch (konk)

I just got off the Magic and the Blonde Giraffe was the best! Especially because there is plenty of room and it is SUPER cold in there. It's a short walk from the main part of town.
I had done research and was all set to buy sandals at Kinos. We docked on a Sunday and it was CLOSED!!!!!!!! The stores next door said they don't usually close on Sundays, just that Sunday. UGH!!!
Here's a picture of my frozen key lime on a stick. Yum!

That's it! :bounce: That's it! :Pinkbounc

Thanks for the pic. Hmmmmmm... tasty! When I went I had a slice with whipped cream, but I'm thinking next time I'm just gonna go for an entire pie. It'll fit in the cooling box thingy in the stateroom, right? Cause you know, there aren't very many sweets on the ship. :rolleyes2

Cheysdad, you have to try one and report back.

I have to say Kermitt's (reminds me of "Kermitt the Frog"-love him). The pie on a stick is awesome!

Hey Shirley would you care to share your recipe? :Pinkbounc

I doubt a whole pie will fit in the cooler. I took two pieces of Key Lime pie to my Mom's stateroom to surprise her (it's her favorite) and when I tried to fit the plate in the fridge it was a no go. Infact it flipped onto the floor as I tried to put it in... =o(

I have no luck with Key Lime pie it seems, the year before on our cruise with CCL, I bought some fresh in Key West. I brought it back my room and went to find my mom, well when I went back to my room it was gone. I asked my stewart and he said he had no idea where it was, I was thinking "yeah sure you don't" and was certain he ate it...lol. Turns out he put it in our ice bucket which we found out later when we went to get some ice and it (the ice) had melted and soaked the pie. What a mess. He later fessed up. =o)

I vote for the Blonde Giraffe!!!! I had the Key Lime Pie dipped in chocolate on a stick. All I can say is YUMMMMMMMMM!!!!!! :thumbsup2

I can't even bear to read this. 4 weeks till my 7 day western and a diet till then.. WHen you get through with deciding the best key lime pie, let me know in about 4 weeks!!! Have a blast on your cruise.

If you go to Kino's go early. We walked to the point and stopped at a few bars (Margarittaville and Hogs Breath) and got to Kino's around 4 and they were closed already! They close early afternoon. When my DH went down fishing this past spring he went there and brought back 2 pairs of sandals for me - I love them. I think they were about $9 each. Very cute.

The Blonde Giraffe! :thumbsup2
delish!!
Personally, I wouldn't try to bring one back to the the room, but not because it wouldn't fit in the cooler. I would eat the whole thing on the way back. There would be no evidence af any pie whatsoever. Good Key Lime Pie is one of my weaknesses. My family all know not to even THINK of trying to steal a bite! :goodvibes

Thank you to everybody! Your responses were great. We are on the Nov. 4th western and I promise to report when I get back.

Shirly
I'm sure your key lime pie is the best...thanks for the reply and additional information!

bringing key lime pie back on board ...

I thought all "opened" or "unsealed" food products were not allowed onboard?
