Kevin I was happy to hear that you enjoyed the Bonefish Grill

I think our experience had more to do with our location. Restaurant choices are few in our city and I thnk the restaurant takes advantage of that.

Our newspaper did a recent "best of" poll and Applebees came in as the number one restaurant in town. That should give you an idea of our choices. lol I loved the number one place to shop...JCPenney.

We moved here from Charlotte, NC a couple of years ago and miss the great malls and eateries.

After reading OP post, I began to wonder about the difference between the actual restaurants themselves.
The Bonefish we have here is a more upscale restaurant than the one described by Kevin.
The entrees are in the $20 range.
We haven't been to the restaurant on Sand Lake Rd for a few years, but at that time, it too was more upscale.

Well my family and I have been to the location on Sand Lake Rd multiple times over the past few years and we don't see a difference in it being more upscale then their location at The Loop or in Winter Garden Shopping Plaza. We have also been to two of their locations in Clearwater, Florida and one in Lexington, Kentucky and once again we haven't noticed a difference in their atmosphere because all were the same. Now some of their locations are bigger then others and that's the only difference I can think of.

Loved the review!

Bonefish Grill is one of our very favorite restaurants! Bang Bang shrimp is from heaven.

We just tried to go for lunch this past Sat & they weren't opening until 4. We were so disappointed & I could have sworn we went for lunch on Sat before.

Great place to eat, great ambiance & one of those places that seems to never disappoint!

I think some of them are more "upscale" (there's a fish-related pun in there somewhere) than others.

It's kind of funny, but when the first one opened here in Sarasota, it's rather large bar and lounge area became a sort of "place to be seen" for all the well-dressed 20 to 40-something business movers and shakers in the area. A high-end meat market, if you will. Even if you were in nice jeans and a Polo shirt you felt WAY under dressed.

It IS a *gorgeous* bar area, with lots of dark woods and black leather chairs - it feels very "posh".

All of this in a "chain seafood restaurant".

Go figure.

Kevin - was glad you did this one too! (And I usually don't listen through to anything not specific to Disney).

We had a Bonefish Grill open up in our area about a year ago. (Lehigh Valley\Allentown PA up here in north east). It was put into a new section of our local mall, and my wife and I always figured it was just another typical chain type place.

Thanks to your review, I think we'll check it out sometime in the next few weeks. :thumbsup2

Kevin,

I love the Bonefish grill but thanks to your review I tried the Wolf Fish at the bonefish grill near us in Brick, New Jersey. (I don't remember if you tried it, but you mentioned it). Unfortunately, our server didn't have a Little Red Riding Hood wolf story to go with it. :)

I asked her if it was true that Wolf fish eat lobster, so they taste like lobster, and she said she wasn't sure, but she thought that it was the Monk fish that was the "poor man's lobster."

In any case, I tried the Wolf Fish -- it tastes like lobster. I'll be getting it again. Next time I'll ask for a side of melted drawn butter to go with it :thumbsup2

Bonefish is my favorite restaurant! To save a bit of money, my husband and I order the Bang Bang Shrimp for an appetizer and we share one of the special entrees they change out regularly. The great thing is they'll split the entree for us in the kitchen so we aren't trying to scrape food onto separate plates. Along with a couple of beers each, we'll get full!

Now, the "special" doesn't mean cheaper than the rest of the entrees - the specials are typically a special fish or special preparation of a seafood or meat dish. We love the "Kate's" style fish, which has a creamy sauce which includes artichokes, YUM!

Our location is in Louisville, KY and the prices Kevin quoted were right on the money for our location. Kevin, thanks for sharing this gem with everyone. It reminds me that sometimes the best meals on vacation at WDW are to be had Off property. :thumbsup2

By the way, Bang Bang Shrimp ranks high on my list of "last meals" should I ever find myself facing a firing squad. :rotfl:

We have one in town. I never thought of going. But hearing Kevin's review about the Bonefish. I think Amy and I have to check it out.
