Kevin Costner's Engagement...

We're not celebs but my DH is 8 years younger than me & I think he keeps me younger!! ;)

I guess I'm confused. Happening all too frequently lately. Sorry that I misunderstood.... guess I was stuck somewhere about someone being w/ someone else's spouse. My DH is 7 years older... I have no opinion one way or the other about age. I have plenty of opinions about fidelity!! :D

Kevin Costner would be wise if he spent his money on some serious acting lessons rather than this new young wife! :p

(I watched Robin Hood the other day and was reminded of what a TERRIBLE actor Kevin Costner is! )

When I see guys in their 40s, 50s, and even 60s dating women in their late 20s and 30s I really don't think anything of it. Alot of women are very mature by that age, so it doesn't seem strange to me at all.

I do get seriously weirded out when mature adults date those in their teens or early twenties. While it may be legal, the attraction registers pretty high on my ick-meter. Billy Joel with the 21 year old is a good example.

As WM Michelle, points out, there is nothing wrong as long as it is a true, lasting love . . .

As to why this May-December phenomena happens, well, its very simple.

Women are attracted to men with POWER, WEALTH, PRESTIGE, and that usually means older men.

Men are attracted to, well, you know . . .

Paul McCartney is another case of a May-December romance.

And I don't think that three of his children are speaking to him. Stella skipped his birthday.

Oh, I agree! I can't watch him without cringing!

Or how about Anna-Nicole? That was a HUGE age gap.

AHAHAH!!!! You're so right Snoopy! Man is he dry, dry as toast!
He's the same in all his movies.

So I am not the only Costner non-fan! The only role I have truly enjoyed him in was in Silverado- you would think that he would have improved rather than gotten worse in the years since.

I also get eeked out when celebrities dump the first spouse after success hits...watch carefully, the subsequent marriage(s) usually seem to fail miserably.

For all of you who don't think Costner can act, didn't you think he nailed his part in The Big Chill? (He was the corpse that was being dressed for the funeral at the beginning of the movie.):jester:

My rule was always you have to be legal to do te same things (i.e....if you are over 18 and can vote, now one under 18, can drink? no 18 year olds) and neither can be capable (years wise) of being the other one's parent (once you start getting into the teens difference wise, it's a no go)

Of course I broke this rule briefly, twice, and I can tell you I shouldn't have!
