So...what is it with the 50-something Hollywood guys (Harrison Ford, Costner) with these young (and of course BEAUTIFUL) women.

Guess they just need something around to keep them feeling YOUNG!!!

To keep this on topic, yes, a lot of rich men go after young women to validate their manhood and prove that they still got it. Whatever it is.

That said, it is a shame that older men are said to be distinguished, while a lot of older women just look old.....if someone stuck by you when you were young and unsure of yourself, you owe it to them to stick with you when you've "made it." Wherever it may be.

Sorry for being off-topic, but...

I heard the exact same story about Cal's wife and Kevin Costner from my sister-in-law, who knew the O's batting manager (or something like that!) when the fling was going on. Seems to me that I heard about it before Cal broke the longest game streak record. I kept telling myself that I didn't think it was true based on how his wife acted the night Cal broke the record, but if you heard it from his own brother, I have to believe it now!

The funny part is that when Billy was telling me, I vaguely remembered a game in B'more being postponed b/c of "power failure." Now we know why.

Hmmm, well, I guess I don't see anything wrong with it. My father was 13 years older than my mother and they had a very happy and loving marriage until his death (way too young, at age 59) 21 years ago.

I've always found older men appealing (must be a daddy thing) and it's not like Harrison or Kevin are ancient. Anna Nicole and her sugar daddy are a whole 'nother story but I see nothing wrong with any of the other relationships. Include Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones in that too.

If a young woman is with a guy almost twice her age (or older) she is either 1. in it for the money or 2. has "father issues" that should of been worked out in therapy!

I think its true of the reverse, too. If a young guy is with an older woman , he's in it for money, or has a "mother complex."

I think these aging hollywood guys can't face the fact that they are getting older and washed up, so they pretend to be younger by hanging around younger women. Plus, plenty of young women throw themselves at them- after all they are rich and famous. I also think these guys can't handle women their own age. Its usually women THEIR age that divorce them!

And of course, these older men always start having babies with these "trophy wives". Yep, Viagra does wonders, doesn't it?

I don't think that an actor in his 50's is necessarily "washed up". But then I STILL don't think that Sean Connery is washed up and he's much older than that of course.

It is possible to actually care about someone who's a bit older. I realize that this isn't always the case but assuming that everyone who goes with an older person is after money or has some kind of parent complex is a bit shortsighted IMO. I'm not sure about Harrison or Kevin but Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones really seem to love each other from the little I can see.

My comments STAND on that post; I absolutely see nothing wrong with older men and younger women OR older women and younger men for that matter. I didn't comment on the adultery as that was not the topic of the orignal poster.

I personally see nothing wrong with ANY of the comments on the thread, people are giving their opinion, just what the OP asked for.

As for my 2 cents, I think Harrison and Calista, and Michael and Catherine are cool. But I'm with you Magickndm, Demi and Ashton are the coolest!!!
