Hi guys!

I am looking forward to hearing about your ABD adventures and am wondering how or if you'll be chronicling your trip? I noticed that Pete is on Twitter with updates about his trip, etc.

Take care and thanks for all you do!
Laura :)

I think it is going to depend on what kind of internet access we can procure while we are in Europe and how crazy the schedule will be. I am going to try and report back in on the boards as well with pics and what ever creative commentary I can squeak in.

Really wanted to go on this one. Sigh, but my friend decided to get married over this time.

Looking forward to hearing the trip report.

I'm with Mike on this one.

If I have internet access, I will be posting updates here on the boards.

To the OP I too heart bean bunny as you can see by my user name. Nice to meet a likeminded person :)

To those traveling on the trip I'll hope for great internet access and some downtime for posting. I'm going to live vicariously through all of you this time!

Kevin,

Thank you for your note....I wanted to go on this trip and will be thrilled to hear any updates about it! I hope it is grand!

Oh and to bean bunny....LOVE our Bean Bunny!

Thanks...
Laura

I'm really excited to follow along and hear about your trip afterwards. We have a similar, non ABD, poor person's itinerary in March when we go to London to visit friends and then to DLP and Paris!!!
I hope to learn a lot from your trip!!

As someone who literally just finished an ABD trip, I'd say to just go and enjoy it. The schedules are far too demanding to get on the computer that often. We'll all be here when you get back. :thumbsup2

Hopefully there's still some of London left after the riots of the last few days!!

If it's not over by September I would be very worried! Apparently the rubber bullets are coming out tonight!

I'm hoping we don't see much more tonight but think the rubber bullets could antagonise things more. Water cannons would be better IMO

We had some small pockets of trouble too in Liverpool last night :(

Really hope things calm down soon, London is a great city and the podcast team will have a great time :)

Last night wasn't too bad in London, seems to have hit Manchester hard though. They are doing some serious crack-downs, so I guess it will all quieten down fairly soon. I just hope this isn't going to cause more problems for social media providers, as that was how they were communicating.

While I DO think it would be tough/time consuming to post on the boards with any level of frequency I can tell you from experience that writing in a journal while on a big trip like that is worth taking the time to do.

I am not into journaling in my everyday life, but when I lived in Russia I wrote an update everyday or so. Now that I am home I cherish that journal, and I am so glad I documented everything. I also used it as a way to write down everything I bought, and manage souvenirs etc. I know you guys will also talk about it on the podcast, so it will be "documented" in that way, but I highly recommend keeping a journal. I found one at a card shop that was on clerence, but I am sure you could get a travel specific journal anywhere.

This one was nice. It had spaces for addresses for postcards (this was before you kept your address book on your phone) flight info, costs, diary type entries, photo logs, etc.
