When I called Keurig, they told me that the tubes had become too brittle. And the reason that happened was that I had not run vinegar through the machine on a monthly basis. So, for the sake of keeping your machine healthy for years to come, I would suggest the vinegar rinse.[/QUOTE


I do this but not once a month. Then I usually run plain water thru it until the smell is gone.

When you brewer shows you the flashing light asking for you to descale it...
Does not mean with vinegar, you can definitely do that though. At least every 3-6 months you need to probably descale your Keurig brewer.

I know you can buy it online i found it while looking at k-cups it is under accessories on Keurig website, I have not seen it in retail stores as of yet but i highly recommend it.
