I'm debating purchasing this coffeemaker and wondering if anyone owns this and would recommend it? The reviews online seems to favor this brand over others and Bed Bath and Beyond has a $5 coupon plus two free K-Cups packs.

Also, any K-Cup flavor recommendations? I'm not a huge coffee fan, but if I add flavor and milk, then I like it. I figured this would save a lot in the long run since Starbucks/Biggby are getting $3-$4 a cup from me.... :surfweb:

I was going to get one for my B-Day however DH was reading the reviews that said that the coffee is weak.:scared:

So...I put it "on hold" until I can actually test it first.

We love our Kuerig. I laughed at my sister and then my DD when they each bought one but I am eating or shall we say drinking, my words. You can choose your coffee and there are many sites to purchase the pods, and the variety and the strength vary.

My DSIL has one.
I have had hot chocolate made by it and it was quite tasty.
DH has had the coffee and said it was good. He is a Starbucks drinker.

I have one and I am a serious coffee drinker. Green Mountain is a nice medium roast bean that many seem to like. You can vary the strength and if anything I find it to be on the stronger side when comparing it to my percolator. Its easy and quick and since only I drink coffee its wonderful to make it by the cup.

I make different teas and hot cocoas for the kids. Gloria Jeans makes k cups that are some of my favorites. Costco has had them on sale and it included 4 boxes (of 18 k cups) of assorted coffees/teas and cocoas. It was $129.00 I love this coffee machine.:thumbsup2

i would try to find a 20% off coupon. Go to this site they have reviews & a forum-people there are nice www.singleservecoffee.com I have a pod coffe maker & have been think of going k-cups.

My parents have one and I think it's awesome. Makes a great cup of coffee and makes a great cup of tea.

What I found that works is use two pods for one large mug. Use the small cup setting and you get 1 large mug of strong coffee.

I find the flavored cups to be on the weak side. However the dark and bold cups make a strong cup of coffee.

Before the Keurig I had one with pods and those were always weak even when I used 2 pods per cup.

I absolutely love my Keurig :lovestruc

We have Keurigs at work and I HATE them. HATE HATE HATE HATE! The coffee is usually week and the cup size is awkward (too small to fill a regular mug, but two of them is too much). Most of the flavors are really fake tasting - the only one I've found that I like is the Sumatran Reserve. I don't think the insides can ever really be cleaned - I know the cleaning crew is really on top of things, but even first thing in the morning the brew tastes kind of stale. Also, if you do get it, DO NOT use both tea and coffee K-cups in the same machine. Your tea will come out tasting like it has been sprinkled with old coffee grounds.

I'll stick with my Krups drip coffee/espresso machine at home and my pay-day-only Caribu (that's just twice a month - I'm being good!) for now.

We absolutely love ours, and we've never had weak coffee with it. In fact, some people we've had over have said that it's a little strong for them.

I love mine and will never go back to a traditional machine. I am actually on my second one now.

Yes you can clean it - just like you can clean a traditional coffee maker. I also make coffee, tea, hot chocolate and use it for hot water for oatmeal and have no problems with carryover taste at all.

There's a huge variety of coffees - the flavored ones can be a bit weak, but I just change the machine to teh smallest cup size and brew two k-cups. For regular coffee they have a wide variety - some very bold and flavorful.

If you google k-cup you should be able to find several companies that sell them and you can see a list of the different flavors and types offered. (I tend to use coffeecow) They used to make a mixed box of flavored and regular coffees. See if you can find that - that way you can try several different kinds.

SIL got one for Christmas and LOVES it. The only thing she doesn't like is it's so easy to make a cup of coffee, she and BIL are drinking much more than they did previously!

Thanks for starting this thread. I forgot I was out of Baileys. So I just went to the liquor store got my Baileys and just made my Baileys and coffee with my Keurig machine.

Dan - Glad I could help.

I ended up going out to buy the machine. I was debating an evening cup with some mudslide mix. Never tried that before... I don't like plain coffee, so I'm going to have to start experimenting.

Thanks for the responses!

I used one at Portofino Bay at Universal. There was a coffee by Emeril (Big Easy Bold)that was delicious and strong. It's what inspired me to get a Keurig.

those that are using k-cup what size drop(oz) are you using? what cups? and do you strong coffee or not. As I said I am debating going from pods to k-cup, not really a strong coffee lover & i enjoy flavored coffees. Right now with most pods I like a 8 to 9 oz drop. Can I get good coffee from a keurig.

How much (average) is the coffee for them?

I was considering on changed my mind thinking the packets would be costly. But lately, it seems like I throw out coffee, and never finish the pot. Maybe I should have went w/ this.

The k-cup packs end up being about 50 cents each. If you purchase directly from Keurigs's website, you can get 10% four or more 24-count packs. I just ordered four 25-count packs and three 5-count packs, and with the 10% discount, no tax and free shipping, it was $59 for 115 k-cups.

I don't like plain coffee or very strong coffee (since I think it tastes too bitter). I'm finding that even on the largest mug size (I think it's 11.25 oz on my machine, the B60), it's strong and flavorful. I've been adding milk to tone it a bit for my taste.

As far as the flavored K-cups, I think they taste more like, for example, hazelnut coffee beans rather than coffee with hazelnut syrup. Does that make sense?

Keurig also has a great referral program where if you refer someone and they buy directly from the site, you each get two free 24-count K-cup packs. (I'm not trying to be salesy here, just letting you know.)
