Keurig Mini Brewer for room?

I was just wondering if anyone has used the portable Keurig mini coffee brewer in the DVC rooms and if there was a local place to purchase one.

We have an owner's locker and I know it would fit in there. Since the Disney coffee is so awful and my DH and I are spoiled by the Keurigs at home and work, we are thinking of buying one and leaving it in our locker between trips.

Thanks.

I haven't used one of the mini brewers but I am with you. I have the fullsized one at home. I work for Target I know that we carry both the Mini and the full sized Kuerigs. I just googled "Target Stores in Orlando Florida" and got 10 + hits so you should be able to find one while you are down there. Good Luck!

I have a Keurig Mini and take it with me when we stay. I ordered it from Keurig.com the day they were released. Macy's, Kohls & Bed Bath and Beyond are a few of the places that carry them. Macy's website is the only one that will show if a store has them in stock. The Florida Mall and Millenia Macy's both have them available. I'd recommend that you call the store directly and inquire before you headed out.

Didn't know that Target carried them. Don't go down the coffee maker aisle much anymore. Looks like almost all the Target stores have them in stock. I did a find in store and used Lake Buena Vista, FL and there are about 10 that have them.

Thank you both. I was thinking about buying one before we leave and packing it for the flight, but it might be just easier to purchase while there.

erionm:when you say you take it with you, how inconvenient is it to pack? Do you have the portable bag that they sell with it?

Yes, I have the carrying case. I only live an hour from WDW so it's not an inconvience for me to take it.

This is why I love these boards! Big coffee drinker (good coffee), always looking for it. We live in FLA, drive in, why not pack the Keurig! It never occured to me to buy a little one, heck! we can take it camping!

You're brilliant! pixiedust:

I love my Keurig's. I have a Mini (B30), Platinum (B70) and an old B100. I used to take the B70 which is more of a hastle with draining the tank. I bought the Mini as a travel brewer. The Mini is so much easier to tote around with it in the optional carrying case. I keep it on my desk at work the rest of the time.

Amazon has them. You could have it shipped to the resort for free through them (if you didn't want to go driving around Orlando looking for one.) They also have the coffee which you could have shipped along with it :)

HayGan,

Now that is a good idea. Have the coffee maker and some coffee shipped to the BCV and then leave it behind in the locker.

We will have a car for this trip but we don't usually venture off property too much. I think I would want it right from the start which is why I was thinking of packing it in my suitcase for the flight.

For those who have the mini, does the coffee taste the same as with the larger models?

Is it true that no water remains after brewing? This would be important for packing it away.

Thanks again all.

I don't taste much difference between my Mini and my B70. With the Mini, you manually determine the brew strength since you have to pour the water in from the top. It should be empty after you brew a cup, but you can force the brewer to purge the tank by pressing and holding the brew button.

Wow. Interesting to see this come up. I love my B70 here at home (but MAN is it expensive the way I drink coffee!) and have been seriously considering picking up a mini at Target just to take to DVC.

One thing stopping me is coffee selection. I don't want to haul coffee down there. Until recently, it's been a hassle even here at home since I had to order everything. Now, my local BB&B has started carrying a HUGE selection of coffees from almost all K-Cup manufacturers. It's been a God-send to me.

This begs the question, I wonder if there's anywhere close to Disney that carries a decent selection of K-Cups. Do I remember a BB&B close to the Winn-Dixie or am I just imagining things? Anybody ever seen them in the WD? I didn't think to look when we were there in Dec.

I guess I'm just being lazy. I guess drag the mini, drag the coffee. :rotfl:

The closest BB&B would be on John Young Parkway north of Osceola Parkway. I shop at Publix and they don't carry them. Winn Dixie is a last resort for us.

Target also stocks k-cups.

Love my Keurig!!

Was definitely planning on taking my B70 with us to THV for Christmas since we are staying 2 weeks and driving. I did not take it last Christmas and missed it so much. Went thru a whole bag of Dunkin Donuts.

Great idea getting the travel size for the ownerslocker:goodvibes I order my coffee from Amazon and signed up for autoship so very easy to use.

We like good coffee and we have the refillable K-Cup, so we keep our costs down and dont have alot of waste. If I use the filled K-Cup, I always run it thru twice to fill my travel mug. I like Timothy's Midnight Magic the best!:wizard:

The boys use it for hot cocoa and that will be great for Christmas.

:confused3i don't get the fuss re the mini Keurigs (they have them onsite in the rooms @ Universal) & it seems to take forever for that 1 cup of coffee

i just bring my own stash of coffee/filters from home for DVC:)
