We have had a Keurig for a while. DH uses it. Had one model, then as a promotion from my bank for opening a small business account, got a bigger one meant mostly for offices. We gave our other one to a co worker of mine, and she gave her little small one to her dad.
What we then discovered is that the new one we got (which is more of an office model) does not accommodate the "my K cup" and we can no longer use regular ground coffee instead of the K cups in the machine. With DH out of work since April '09, we were not spending the extra on the K cups but using Chock or another brand that I got at the market.
Now, we have no option but to use the old drip machine for his coffee. For any holiday, I give him K cups that he rations out over the weeks. Even with sales and coupons, it still costs about $.40/cup for the K cups. Given that I can buy a whole can of Chock for $1.99, it's just too expensive while he's not working.
But a word to the wise...make sure the machine you're buying takes the "my K cups" before you purchase. I know that the K cup coffees are good, but everyone needs an option and we just don't have that anymore.
Live and learn.
